Summary:
The Porch Home sits in Clarksville --a quiet, historic neighborhood in Austin. The location is fantastic, against the backdrop of the vibrant West 6th Street scene. Just two blocks away, you’ll find some of the best restaurants and shopping in Austin! Built in 1907, this craftsman home offers travelers a chance to experience some of Austin's history while enjoying modern conveniences. Great wifi throughout and Smart TVs in every bedroom.

The Space:
Please note, all guests staying at a Portoro home are required to sign a rental agreement.

You'll have the entire place to yourself. Just 1.5 miles to downtown and no more than 2 miles to the UT campus. And walking distance to Lady Bird Hike and Bike Trails, Barton Springs, Zilker Park (ACL Fest) and SXSW events.
This house is in the center of everything, while offering a quiet retreat at the end of the day.

Notable hot spots close by:
Swedish Hill Bakery (Coffee), El Arroyo (Mexican), 24 Diner, Clark’s Oyster Bar (Seafood), Mean Eyed Cat (Music Venue), Nightcap (Bar & Desserts), Wholefood’s Headquarters (Grocery & Dining), and tons of restaurants and bars on w.6Th St – also within walking distance.

Stay Local Austin is your host during your stay and will be there to answer any questions you may have about the home or the surrounding area.

In compliance with our policies for long term stays, we need to collect a few additional fees from you before guaranteeing this reservation. Please see below and reply here with any questions. Your guest ambassador will reply shortly and be available to assist you where needed.

Additional Cleaning Fee:

We do require additional cleaning fees for guests staying longer than 3 weeks. Your Guest Ambassador will coordinate the cleaning schedule for a minimum of once every 2 weeks. You can request cleanings more frequently if desired. Additional cleaning charges will be sent using a payment request or resolution request, immediately following the cleaning.

Guest Access:
We offer convenient keyless door codes for self-check-in. Portoro Homes uses smart locks with check-in details provided 48 hours prior to arrival by email and text message.

• Early check-ins or late check-outs: If the property happens to be ready earlier than the standard 4 pm check-in time on the day of your arrival, in most cases an early arrival option may be available when confirmed with the main office. Late check-outs must be confirmed with main office staff prior to the date of departure.

The Neighborhood:
Historic Clarksville Neighborhood. Two blocks from W 6TH Street.
Check out one of the moon towers at the corner of 12th and Blanco. Erected in 1895.

Getting Around:
Austin offers plenty of transportation options. Ride sharing, micro mobility, and mass transit are available everywhere. The airport is just 30 minutes away.

Other Things to Note:
Note: Two of the beds are IKEA lightweight stackable twin beds, located in an enclosed air-conditioned sunroom. Access to the sunroom is either through another bedroom or via a separate door leading directly to the front porch

Prior to check-in, we will send you detailed directions to ensure a seamless arrival. Pack n Plays or High Chairs must be requested prior to arrival. We provide a small table top board for ironing (found in the laundry area).

Parking enough for 1 car in the driveway, and plenty of curbside parking in front of the house.
No parties please. We do not mind you having a few friends over, but no big parties. This is a quiet neighborhood.

HOTEL TAX COLLECTION: Both the City of Austin and the State of Texas requires all hotel and vacation rental hosts to collect hotel tax. We collect these two taxes within the booking transaction. The state requires 6% and the city requires 11%.
YOU ARE HELPING: A portion of the city hotel tax helps support Austin's musicians and related businesses.

Interaction with Guests:
Portoro Homes communicates via email and phone. After a booking is confirmed, rental agreement will be emailed to the guest for e-signature. Check-in instructions are sent by email and text message 48 hours prior to arrival date (keyless entry). We offer convenient keyless entry for self-check with no need to stop in at a local office. We do typically check in with guests by email/text 1-2 times during their stays to ensure a 5-star experience and remain available for any questions/inquiries. We are available to guests 24/7.

Perfect house for our extended family getaway. House is clean, convenient and well stocked with amenities. Not to mention the ability to step out the door and have access to food, drink, grocery. Will definitely stay again!

The house is lovely! Very clean and comfortable. Loved sitting on the front porch! Well stocked kitchen (only missing thing was dishtowels). Several great bars and restaurants in walking distance. Short uber or not-too-long walk from downtown. I'd recommend this place to our friends!

3 couples stayed to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday. House was perfect! Location was great. Nice neighborhood. A few restaurants and bars just done the street. Shops and river walk within walking distance. House was fully stocked with everything you need. FYI Lighting in bathroom wasn’t great for applying make-up.That is the only minor complaint I have. Lots of outdoor seating. Loved hanging out on the front porch. Definitely recommend.

It was the perfect stay. My husband really enjoyed everything about it. He walked most places and got all his appointments in Austin done with ease. He liked the neighborhood and would like to stay again. Unfortunately, while I planned to go, I had to stay home at the last minute, but based on his reviews, I am looking forward to staying there next time.
