500 feet to the Beach, Full house with Stocked Kitchen, Linens & Beach Supplies

Just bring your suits, fip flops, friends and family. The Lost Loggerhead is fully stocked with everything you need to relax in the sun at the beach. Grab a set of Waves on the boogie Boards or surf Boards, ride the bikes for ice cream or book an off shore fishing adventure. Home has 4 bedrooms 2.5 Baths. Great location 2 homes from the Ocean and 1/2 mile from the Food Loin, 1 mile from the 4xx4 beach access, 2.7 miles from the Canadian Hole and 7 miles from the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. So you will have all the best of Hatteras Island and Avon all within walking or a bike ride. We loaded the home with Beach Chairs, Beach Towels, Umbrella, Beach Cart, 3 Foam Surf Boards and 4 Boogie Boards, sand toys plus a cooler. We also put in an Xbox, smart TV's in every room, books and a ton of games for those times when you are not on the Beach. The kitchen is fully stocked with an ice maker, spices, olive oil, and basic cooking needs even a crockpot and air fryer for those that prefer a home cooked meal. Lower deck set up so you can enjoy the sun or shade come together around the fire pit. 2 different grills available one gas and one charcoal so you can to cook up the catch of the day get the favor and taste you want.

Very well kept and organized house with great hosts!

Me and 7 of my friends who were all 17-18 years old needed a place to stay for our senoir trip. When we saw the lost loggerhead we knew that was the house we would be staying at. Not only is it an extremely clean and well managed house, it also has so much beach equipment that you don’t even have to bring any of your own. The outdoor shed has everything from cornhole and bikes to boogie boards and beach umbrellas and so much more. There is lots of space inside and outside the house for everyone to have their own privacy but the giant living room makes it easy for everyone to come together as well. On the other hand, the hosts are extremely responsive. They were on vacation internationally when we stayed and they gave me contact information for Jan who was down the road and willing to help at any second. Jan is an incredibly kind and patient women that we much appreciated. I would 100% recommend this house to anyone whether it be adults, teens, or kids. I will definitely be sure to stay here next time I come to Avon.

The Jackpot of the Outer Banks!

This beautiful home is exactly as described...and it is loaded! Boogie boards, surfboards, beach wagon, beautiful bedrooms, a well-appointed kitchen and so much more. It was pure perfection for our family gathering of nine--ages 11 and up--and sooo close to the beach. Communication with the owners was excellent before and during our time here. We would love to stay here again!

Fantastic family trip in Avon!

We had an outstanding stay at The Lost Loggerhead. For our small family, the location was perfect, as it was near several major beaches, and obviously, we could also simply walk across the street to enjoy the water. Avon is a fun town, the Food Lion is essentially right next door, and great food is everywhere. Some of our favorites were Gidget's, Tavern on 12 (about a 15-minute drive), Orange Blossom (try the apple ugly), and Duck Donuts. We had every amenity needed at the house, and we especially enjoyed the games in the fourth level tower, as well as the third level deck. We hope we can find an opportunity to visit OBX and The Lost Loggerhead again.

OBX Surf Trip

Stayed for 5 nights with some family for a surf / beach getaway. House was a quick drive from lighthouse and Frisco breaks and also had the option to go right over the dunes to Askins creek or go just up the road to Avon pier. House was very comfortable. We commented several times that we couldn’t believe the furnishings and cookware was in a rental. Fourth floor bonus room was also a great spot to relax and read, look at the ocean, or relax. Owners were super responsive whenever we needed anything. Even got locked out once and they got back to us super quick to help us get back in the home. Would definitely stay here again and recommend for others.

It was perfect! The hosts were so helpful and had things for all the kids old and young to do. Don’t worry about overpacking things because they have just about anything you would need at their house. Thank you for helping make our family vacation awesome!

Wow…just WOW!

I can not say enough good things about this property or the family who owns it. My interactions with Richard and Stephanie were nothing short of positive, professional, and helpful from beginning to end. It was clear from the moment we walked through the door that they have put a lot of thought, consideration, and effort into making this one of the best rentals on the market. When they say you don’t need to bring anything…they mean it. I’ve never stayed at a vacation rental that was this well supplied before. The house was immaculate and very well maintained. This will be the first place I try to book on any future family trip to OBX and I can only hope that other renters do their part and help keep this place what it is. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Richard and Stephanie for the opportunity to stay at your property and have a lovely week with my family. I wish you the best of success with this place
