Starlight is one of three cabins on Lucky Star Ranch, a rural property outside Bandera with trees and Hill Country views. The Hill Country State Natural Area is three miles away for hiking, riding and wildlife, and Lost Maples State Natural Area, Garner State Park and the Frio, Medina and Guadalupe rivers are all within about an hour. Bandera and Hondo are both an easy drive.



The cabin is a studio with golden woodwork and good natural light, laid out as a sleeping area, a dining nook and a kitchenette. The queen bed sleeps two, and a rollaway is available on request for a third. The kitchenette has a fridge, a hot plate, a microwave that also works as an oven, basic cookware, and both regular and K-cup coffee. There is a full bath with a shower stall, a Roku TV, central heat and air, and Wi-Fi.



Each cabin has a shaded front porch with rocking chairs. The ranch grounds, shared by the three cabins, have picnic tables, a charcoal grill, a large fire pit with firewood supplied, outdoor games and walking trails, and laundry is on site. The goats, chickens and ducks are friendly, and the nights are dark enough for stargazing. The owner lives on the property and is there if anything comes up.



Early check-in may be available on request. Every stay includes the Texas Hill Country Travel App, a local guide for exploring the area.



WHY WE LIKE IT

What we tell people about Starlight is that it makes a good base for day trips. Lost Maples and Garner State Park are both within an hour, and the Hill Country State Natural Area is three miles away. The kitchenette's microwave doubles as an oven, which covers a simple supper after a long day out. And a dog can come along, as long as it is fine around goats and chickens.

One pet per cabin is allowed; it must get along with farm animals and stay leashed on the property. Any pet fee is shown when you book.
