But the biggest surprise was that the property is on a lake. Governor's Lake. Walk around the property and you come to a beautiful lawn and grounds that are beautifully manicured and a heavenly view. “This place is sketchy. We showed up on a Friday afternoon and there were a lot of workers hanging around in the parking lot drinking beer and smoking. We also noticed 2 cop cars and a patty wagon. Police were waking along the top floor balcony and patrolling the parking lot. My daughter wouldn't even get out of the car. We left, I immediately msgsed them and explained why we were no longer staying. They charged me full price for the night. I think they could have given an exception. Am I...

“Check in person was not friendly. Some rooms required $250 refundable deposit, some not. Deposit to only be refunded manually at Check in desk when checking out. Had to wait for refund until room was inspected. This 15 minute process has never happened on any hotel I've stayed at. There are better choices in Truro.”

“The staff was lovely but the room was very unclean. Stunk of cigarettes and there was burn holes in the bedding. Empty alcohol bottles and cans everywhere. We left immediately. The staff was lovely and looked defeated. My heart goes out to them but I couldn't stay there with my immune compromised husband and children ”
