Luxury Bayfield Apartment with Deck, View of Lake Superior & California King Bed

The Blue Grotto is an upper level, fully furnished, 1-bedroom, 3/4-bath luxury apartment with private entrance in the heart of downtown Bayfield within walking distance to the ferry, restaurants, shops and beaches. Private deck with lake view. Sleeps 4. Private bedroom has Cal king bed; living room has Murphy bed. Free designated alley parking. A/C available. Hardwood floors and natural stone tile throughout. Reliable Wi-Fi. Available year round. Check in 3PM; check out 11AM.

THE SPACE
Beautifully renovated apartment with great attention to the finer details in this 600+ square foot space. Ceiling has hand-painted, stenciled design on aged Italian plaster. Hardwood trim is hand-carved. Fully stocked kitchen has custom granite counters and natural stone backsplash with stylish, modern appliances. Full bath with walk-in travertine shower is beautifully tiled and decked with custom wallpaper and gorgeous trim. Drink your coffee on the walk-out deck and enjoy the lake view or lounge in the living area equipped with TV and Roku stick. Private bedroom has a luxuriously comfortable California King bed. Paired with a Murphy bed in the living area, the apartment sleeps four comfortably.

GUEST ACCESS
The whole apartment will be for guests. It sits behind and partially above a storefront and requires some steps to access the front door.

Very nice lodging option in the heart of Bayfield's downtown. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had great communication from hosts, making the stay very smooth. Plenty of space for 2 kids and 2 adults. We will definitely book again if our travels bring us to Bayfield. Be sure to eat at St. James Social. I am still dreaming of my meal!

Very nice place. Quiet,very clean, a little snafu finding it, but everything was great. Communication with host was spot on. Location was perfect for what we wanted to do. Great shops, restaurants, ferry, Apostle Islands tour. Highly recommend restaurant right next door, St. James Social.

Beautiful apartment

This property is beautiful and clean, and right in downtown Bayfield. You can walk to everything and there is a nature walk trail very close. The proprietors are friendly and helpful.

Bayfield and Madeline Island are wonderful. This apartment was extremely well finished and well equipped for a parsimonious 1 bedroom. The Murphy bed was a little bumpy, but everything else was great. Because of the all Vrbo extra charges, the cost is higher than seems reasonable, but you know that cost going in.

Wonderful Property and Location!

My husband and I had a great stay. The location is great, and the decor, furnishings, etc. are impeccable. Owners were very responsive. The only thing inside that could be improved would be instructions in the binder on how to use the heat. After the first night, we communicated with the owners and they explained what to do. The only criticism of the property is that the outside could use some maintenance. The interior was gorgeous and we loved our stay very much! Thank you!

Great location

Loved being able to walk to everything in town. A little grocery store is right across the street, so very convenient. Everything was clean and tidy. Kitchen was well stocked with essential items. Two personal preferences... there is plenty of lighting choices in the unit, but most all the lights are very dim appearing. Even with blinds open we had to have pretty much every light in the unit on to be able to see comfortably. Even the bedside table lamp was so dim I had trouble reading at night! I think some higher wattage bulbs would help. Other issue is the trash/recycle cans in the kitchen are small/8 gallon size. As a family of 4 who made just about every meal in the unit, this was too small! I brought standard kitchen trash bags and they were too large to use in the cans. Both of these are small things that can be overlooked, however the reason we would not stay again was the noise from the downstairs unit. No reviews mentioned any issues with noise, so I don't know if it is regular tennents or another rental below, but we had issues with noise every night we were there. The first and third nights the noise died down around 930pm, so not terrible, but the second night it was nearly midnight! So loud we were being woke up and/or couldn't fall asleep...banging, voices, coughing etc. and we had early starts each day; so frustrating! However, I did not reach out the owners because I did not want to disturb so late on 2nd night and our stay was just 3 nights.

The Blue Grotto in Bayfield

The outside of the property is a bit rustic and in need of maintenance, but once inside the rental is quite nice. The Blue Grotto is well appointed and furnished. The space is larger than expected and very clean. The apartment is well located within walking distance of all that Bayfield has to offer.
