  • Block Eight Estate is a stunning 100-acre private retreat nestled in the heart of the beautiful Hunter Valley wine country. Surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, natural bushland and beautifully maintained park-like grounds, the estate enjoys sweeping views from the Barrington Tops to the Brokenback Range—inviting guests to fully immerse themselves in its natural beauty and peaceful surrounds.

    Our exclusive guest-only Wine Room, set over a sparkling lake, offers a tranquil space to enjoy boutique estate wines while watching the sun set over the water.

    Block Eight Estate is designed as a romantic, peaceful escape. We accommodate a maximum of 10 guests at any one time across the estate and operate under a strict adults-only policy. Children and infants are not permitted on the property under any circumstances, ensuring a calm and uninterrupted experience for all guests.

    For those wishing to explore the region, we are ideally located neighbouring Squires Vineyard, within walking or cycling distance to RidgeView Cellar Door and Restaurant, and only a short drive from many of the Hunter Valley’s most celebrated wineries and dining experiences. Helicopter transfers and winery tours can also collect directly from the estate.

    The property is home to kangaroos, wallabies and abundant native wildlife and birdlife, offering guests a true connection to the Australian landscape. We also regularly foster rescue dogs and have a dedicated “Puppy House” where guests can visit and spend time with the puppies. Guests can also enjoy simple farm experiences such as feeding ducks or collecting fresh eggs from our friendly chickens.

    Each luxury villa is thoughtfully appointed with hotel-quality linen, plush towels, premium toiletries and carefully considered details, including our own award-winning estate olive oil. All guests are welcomed with a complimentary bottle of estate wine and a curated welcome gift on arrival.

    THE Villa

    Gum Trees Villa is our most luxuriously appointed villa, set over two levels and designed for comfort, space and relaxation. It features a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable day beds, and a covered verandah with sweeping views across the estate.

    In the cooler months, the open fireplace creates a warm and inviting atmosphere—perfect for enjoying a glass of wine or a long, relaxing bath.

    Gum Trees Villa features one bedroom with a king bed for two guests. An additional single day bed can be arranged for a third guest at an additional cost.

    Other villas on the estate include Vineyard View, Water View (pet-friendly), Tree Tops (pet-friendly) and Barrington View.

    THE Important Stuff
    Accommodation Details

    Block Eight Estate is ideal for groups of up to 10 adult guests, offering five private one-bedroom villas. Each villa features king bedding and its own ensuite bathroom.

    Please note: Block Eight Estate is strictly adults-only. Children and infants are not permitted on the property under any circumstances.

    How We Price

    Rates are based on a minimum number of guests. Additional guests are charged per person, per night, with pricing automatically calculated at booking. Any reduction in guest numbers after booking is non-refundable.

    Arrival Details

    Access is simple and secure. Guests will receive an SMS with their access code shortly before 3pm on arrival day. Standard check-in is from 3pm. Early check-in may be available but cannot be confirmed until the day prior; if available, guests will be notified by 4pm.

    Linen

    One set of bed linen and two bath towels per person are provided. Guests staying longer may wish to bring additional towels. Pool and lake towels are BYO.

    Guest Amenities

    We operate an eco-conscious approach and provide a 3-in-1 shampoo, conditioner and body wash in each villa. Guests are welcome to bring any additional personal items they prefer.

    Wi-Fi

    Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided for guest use. As it is supplied by a third-party provider, speed and reliability cannot be guaranteed and compensation is not offered for outages.

    PET Policy

    Pets are welcome at Water View Villa only, subject to prior written approval and agreement to the following conditions:

    Guests must provide pet bedding, bowls and waste bags
    Pets are not permitted on furniture, rugs, carpet, beds or linen
    Pets must not be left unattended at any time
    Guests acknowledge rural property risks including fencing, waterways, wildlife and neighbouring livestock
    A bond may apply for any damage or breach of the pet policy

    For safety reasons, dogs must remain on leash at all times while on the property due to wildlife, including kangaroos, which may react defensively if threatened.

    Fireplaces & Firewood

    Fireplaces and fire pits operate seasonally—from after the NSW Easter School Holidays until before the NSW September School Holidays—in line with fire regulations. Starter firewood is provided for 1–2 nights, with additional wood available from the on-site woodshed.

    House Rules
    No Party Policy

    Strictly no parties, events or excessive noise are permitted, in accordance with NSW Short-Term Rental Accommodation legislation and local council regulations. Breaches may result in eviction and additional charges.

    Guest Numbers & Visitors

    The number of guests on your booking is the maximum permitted on the property at any time, including visitors. Any visitor requests must be approved in writing prior to arrival.

    As part of our strict adults-only policy, children and infants are not permitted on the property under any circumstances, including as visitors.

    Security & Monitoring

    For safety and compliance, Wi-Fi security cameras may be installed at the front entrance and occasionally rear external areas of the property.

    Guest Registration & Security

    All guests are required to complete electronic registration prior to arrival, including photo ID verification. The primary guest must also provide contact details for all occupants. This information is securely stored and deleted after departure.

    Important

    Bookings made within 5 days of arrival require verification using a credit card matching the guest’s identification. Failure to provide matching documentation may result in cancellation and refund.

    Insurance

    We strongly recommend guests obtain Domestic Travel Insurance to cover unexpected circumstances such as cancellations, illness, medical emergencies or travel disruptions.

    This property is proudly managed by Hunter Holidays, a licensed real estate agency. Our team is available 7 days a week to assist guests from enquiry through to departure.
