“There were some lovely touches about the general accommodation such as pretty chandeliers, nice artwork and grand mirrors. We were in room 6 which was advertised as lacking natural light, this was fine, but the decor was so dark and such a dull lightbulb, it made the room feel so dingy. There was no plug point near the mirror, so doing hair was difficult. On the plus side the bed was very comfortable and there was a lovely big fan in the room to help combat the heat. “I loved the relaxed vibe, the friendly staff and the location right on the beach. It’s a bit retro, but in all the good ways. It was just lacking a seafront pool and a shower for the thermal spa. Fantastic food.”

“Upon arrive need to WhatsApp the hotel to get your room access code. The hotel did not answer for over an hour. Eventually had to get Expedia customer service involved. Shower door was off its hinges and continued to come off with each use. Shower only worked when running the sink tap. Stains on sheets and pillow cases”

Joseph the host was attentive and gave clear instructions of check in etc. The room was beautifully decorated and clean. Super dog friendly too. The staff at the Seadog pub were brilliant. We even had dinner and drinks there, such a nice pub. If you’re staying in Hastings definitely book yourself in here.”

Battle is a wonderful village full of history and we really enjoyed the evening exploring the town and enjoying the vista. The hotel is small, old and quaint.
