  • I don’t know if people actually read this, but after 3 years of doing this I am going to put the most concise honest description I can. My house is older with a remodeled interior and a revamped man cave in downtown Birmingham, 8 minutes from the brand new amphitheater. If you have not stayed in downtown Birmingham, you need to know that you will drive by unsavory areas. However, my neighborhood is safe and has a sweet old lady to your left and a family of 4 to your right. Please do not book my house if you are a scammer who wants to try to get a free place to stay. After 3 years, I’ve dealt with it all, and no refund will be given as I take pictures of the house after I clean it. We strive for 5 star service every time. Please let us know how we can improve if we didn’t achieve that. Hope to host you soon!!

We were a little disappointed because the pictures of the house inside were not accurate! The host was awesome to work with! He was very responsive & was quick to resolve any problems we had while staying there!

Very misleading from the pictures and description. Like the other reviewer mentioned, the pictures seem to have been enhanced with AI. House was dirty and had a stale cigarette smell. The front door would not close from where it seemed to have broken into previously. Rooms were small and it would be a stretch to sleep the 10 people stated in the description. The house is not in a safe part of town at all. Car on blocks in the yard across the street, and caged puppies in the yard of the house next door. (See pictures)We did not feel safe staying here or leaving a vehicle in the driveway overnight. After arriving at the property on a Saturday afternoon and realizing it was not how it was described, we left, and as we were leaving I had to drive carefully around a visibly intoxicated man stumbling through the street about a half block down. We decided not to stay for our own safety and requested a refund from the host. The host did message back relatively quickly, but they could only offer a partial refund. Did not make up for all of the major issues this place has. For your own safety, pass on this listing.

We did not stay overnight. We booked this home for one night in Birmingham and were extremely disappointed, ultimately driving four hours back home in the middle of the night. The property was not fit for anyone, especially a family with four kids.First issue: we never received check-in instructions and had to contact the host just hours before arrival for the code. Upon arrival, the front door was clearly damaged from prior break-ins and would not fully close, leaving a visible gap. Inside, there was a strong cigarette odor, and the home looked nothing like the listing photos.The condition was unacceptable: flooring pieces were taped down, a large ceiling hole was covered with cardboard, and the kitchen counters were dirty with food residue. Curtains and towels had stains, floors were broken or peeling, and one couch was ripped with a large wet spot. Much of the home had loose artificial grass flooring that caused multiple trips.We briefly stayed to change and left. After our event, we considered staying since we had already paid, but our children were scared and begged not to remain.The host mentioned prior renters had thrown a party, but that did not excuse the condition. This was a complete waste of money and the worst rental experience we’ve had.

The pictures do not match reality. Home was dirty and smelled of smoke. Home was also very small for 10 people. We did not stay, too many issues to list all of them. I asked for a full refund and we were offered a partial refund; still working on this... I believe the photos are enhanced with AI to make the home look freshly painted and clean. Stove/oven was greasy and black (picture shows a white oven), walls and floors dirty. Random stuff laying around, including trash, broken eye glasses and broken tv on the ground, boarded up window and poor lighting. We had to find another home to rent last minute. Beware of this listing.

The host was very responsive and offered several great places to eat at. We chose Jack Browns and it did not disappointed. Very little TV’s available in the house, One heater made noises all night, did see a roach crawling up from behind the toilet which is sometimes not in our control) the sheets and even the extra sheets smelled sour, and all the pillows were very soft. However, this place was very local and close by for what we needed and served its purpose for the evening.
