Our oldest daughter wanted to take her family back and see how Black Mountain was doing, so we booked this beautiful home. It was very clean, and there was a nice "welcome" basket. Plenty of parking, access to hiking trails, gated community, quiet. This large house allowed couples to have a private bedroom and bath but still be together as a group. “My neighborhood is WWIII during the first week of July and my dog gets very angry at the sound so I was looking for somewhere to get away from it all. This was that place. We had a wonderful time hiking Chimney Rock and walking around Asheville. Great location. Close to everything and quiet. Definitely will make it a yearly trip. ”

“What a fantastic place to stay in lovely and fun Black Mountain. The cabin was spacious but also cozy, clean and extremely well furnished, everything we needed in the kitchen! We found great restaurants and gift shops along Cherry Street, and playground and fun for the kids at Robert Lake Park. John and Rachel were great hosts, very easy to communicate with! We hope to stay here again for any future trips to this great spot !:) ”

“The stay was great and has beautiful views. The house is very comfortable and clean. We definitely enjoyed our stay. However, the roads out to the cabin are not for the faint of heart or for 2wd. They may have once been for 2wd, but there has been major road work being done during our stay that we did not know about ahead of time that made it difficult for driving in our 2wd suv. “We absolutely loved staying at The Gertie Cabin! The interior is very pretty and all of the extra touches are very thoughtful. We were so impressed by how clean and new everything was. The animals outside were such a fun added bonus. Our kids loved going outside to feed them! The owners are readily available and very accomodating. Overall, we LOVED staying here and would absolutely stay again!”
