“We stayed for just one night and had no complaints whatsoever. The service was excellent, the staff were friendly, the food was delicious, and we left feeling well-rested. Bed was comfortable. I would recommend it. Although we had a shared bathroom, it was spotless, well-maintained, and perfectly functional—so it didn’t affect our stay at all. Lovely atmosphere, fantastic beer garden, overall great. ”

“This was another return visit to this wonderful warm and friendly pub/hotel. This time i was accompanied with my daughter/we came up up to celebrate my friend's birthday and celebrate my daughters acceptance to University. “The checking in was brilliant, we arrived in the morning and they gave us our key early as we were not going to be needing our room until later as we were attending a wedding in a nearby village. Everything was as you would expect however the bed was not!! They had put a king size mattress on a double bed. Unbeknown to me I turned over while I was asleep and fell out hurting myself!! “It was the most relaxing weekend you could ask for, it was so peaceful and the staff were amazing. Can’t recommend enough a weekend at Retreat East. Also the spa and food was amazing. ”

“We stayed here due to a wedding at nearby Bruisyard. It was a lovely stay and I couldn’t fault it, a beautiful setting full of nature and a very well preserved property. Liz was very accommodating allowing us to drop our luggage and car off earlier than check in; we also came down to a very very nice breakfast with something for everyone. ”

“Excellent first rate property, room was perfect facing the quiet garden area. We sat out on the balcony and had coffee and tea in the morning. The night before had a swim and enjoyed the sauna, steam room and pool. Later had a wonderful meal in the ring room. If we’re in the region again, we’ll definitely stay, and hopefully for a little longer!”
