Our two-night stay at this cottage was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the sheer beauty of the setting, tucked away on a private stretch of river, surrounded by nature at its finest. A stunning cottage retreat! We swam in the river, canoed to the falls, went for walks, had evening outdoor fires and even enjoyed some fishing. The grounds are private and spectacular. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would need, and I loved all the beautiful dishware; just made cooking effortless. The beds were very comfortable, and every space radiated both style and warmth. The cottage is spotless and is both luxurious and cozy. My husband and I had a wonderful time and we can’t wait to come back! Thanks Greg, for being a perfect host and for sharing your home with us!

We booked a four night stay in Sept 2025, hoping for a few days of rest and relaxation. Our stay was simply wonderful. Host Greg was welcoming and very responsive. The house was the perfect size for us and our dogs, with many comfortable places to sit and read, or just watch the chipmunks and birds. Our hosts had thought of everything that might be needed in each room, leaving nothing wanting. The kitchen especially bears mentioning - drawers and cupboards held everything needed to make a quick bite all the way through to a full on homemade dinner. The home is modern and very comfortable. The property is spectacular, with so many private places to sit and enjoy nature. I spent a leisurely afternoon kayaking up and down the river, and another morning sitting quietly on the dock with the dogs. We went for many walks and met no one! Thank you, Greg and family, for letting us stay in such a special place!!!

We had an amazing stay! Greg was an excellent host and a fantastic communicator — he made everything so easy for check in. The house itself was beautiful, spotless, and perfectly set up for a relaxing getaway. Greg went above and beyond by providing all the water toys we could possibly need — kayaks, paddleboards, and more — which made our time on the water so much fun. The location was peaceful and scenic, yet close enough to everything we needed. Overall, this was the perfect spot for both adventure and relaxation. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable vacation.

Great vacation home! Clean, perfect layout for our family. Nice clean water for swimming, the kids chased frogs and turtles and swam all day. We played bocce ball on the grass and the sauna and outdoor shower was a delight. Bracebridge is a great town that has everything you need including Santas Village Amusement Park which made for a great day. Highly recommended!

Great property—so beautiful!

My wife, a friend, and I had a great time at this lovely, spcaious property: fantastic views; gorgeous modern house (but still with old-world charms); good communication with property owner; super-high ceilings; amazing sauna (my first sauna ever!); and just overall very well appointed in every way that matters. We had a glorious time, and would love to go back one day.

This waterfront property is amazing. It was so clean and welcoming as soon as we walked in. The host was very responsive and accommodating. We loved our stay at Muskoka River Retreat!

As soon as we walked in, we knew we were in for a wonderful week. We all said, “Wow!” (really!) The view, the immersion in nature, the solitude, and the soothing atmosphere were just what we were looking for. The cottage had everything we needed – especially in the kitchen – and we took advantage of the patio grill often with food purchased at the local butcher shop/market (the pork slouvaki – yum!.) We took advantage of everything the property and surrounding area had to offer. We started each day with a relaxing sauna and ended most evenings sitting by the outdoor firepit. We used the canoe, paddleboard and kayak during our week – easily paddling upstream. Several times along the way we were greeted by loons and once by a swimming chipmunk! During our stay, we hiked/walked to nearby falls, travelled into Bracebridge, and discovered even more falls to enjoy. We spent a day at Algonquin Provincial Park, well worth the 90-minute drive. We spent other days finding small parks with swimming areas for our water-loving dog along Lake Muskoka and Lake Rosseau shores. We visited several farmer’s markets in the area (the Muskoka River Smoked Trout – more yum!). At night we enjoyed the clear, dark sky and photographed a myriad of stars in the bog area - a short walk down the road. If you’re looking for a getaway in a peaceful, quiet, gorgeous setting - this is the place for you.

Great place for vacation

We had a wonderful experience and will come back an again for sure. The location is fantastic as it is in a quiet area with good distance from neighbours. The house and amenities were great. All the toys and fun stuff needed to enjoy a true cottage bacation. were provided.

Great Stay at Muskoka River Retreat

We stayed 7 nights at this cottage in late July/early August 2024. The cottage is very well appointed and has everything you need for a stay away. The surrounding area is very quiet and peaceful. The check-in process was a breeze and the host left very detailed instructions so we didn't have any questions. It's a short 15 km drive to Bracebridge which has great shopping, food options, entertainment, and some great beaches if looking for a different option for swimming. You can tell the host takes great pride in their property!

Amazing Stay!!!

As soon as we saw the house, it was beautiful and we couldn’t wait to begin our vacation! The house was very clean, amazing views and a dream away from home. We loved how the house was in the middle of everything if you had to make a run to Walmart or shopping. We especially loved the water view and how quiet and peaceful it was. Magical Snow Escape

As always, this property is wonderful, particularly in the wintertime! There is lots to do outdoors in the surrounding area. The hosts even provided some treats for Valentines Day, which was very thoughtful! We look forward to returning again!

Beautifully setup, a gorgeous property!

We truly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean & beautiful, had gorgeous landscape & was close to all amenities. Setup was well thought of, everything needed was provided including firewood for a cozy fireplace. First class experience all the way through and also an amazing & resoonsive host. Thank you Greg! Our daughter had a blast and enjoyed her ski camp! Our dog was in heaven. There was great privacy as well. We highly recommend it & definitely love to come back.

Beautiful getaway

We stayed at this beautiful property for thanksgiving. It was a lovely experience. The cottage is located in a very quiet. serene location right on Muskoka river. We throughly enjoyed the views from the living room and the warmth from the log fire. Greg, was an amazing host. He even let us check out later in the day. I would go back again. Highly recommend this place.

Fabulous home and wonderfully pristine river location

Greg was a wonderful host. When something went wrong, he responded immediately with a solution to the problem. Sleeping arrangements should be considered as sometimes, depending on ages and relationships, beds need to be assigned appropriately. We had one male almost 13 and two girls ages 15 for part of our stay.

Exceptional vacation

The cottage is stunning and luxurious. Exactly as advertised and more. Swam off the dock and paddled the river to falls every day. Rainy days in the Muskoka room are what it was designed for. Loved the days we spent there making happy family memories. Hope to spend time there again in the future. Thank you Greg and Kathleen for a wonderful vacation.

Extremely clean and relaxing

My honest review. (Not picky, just honest) Greg was absolutely a gentleman and a gracious host. He greeted us, showed where everything was and left us his number for any questions. Inside is small-ish for 2 adults and 4 kids BUT it was clean and organized. Air conditioning worked beautifully and IF you needed TV/Internet, it was fast. The dock area was nice and the river was picture perfect. As a landscape guru, I could appreciate the hard and soft scape around the whole property. Negatives (hardly any) - Pictures showed a ladder leading up to a loft area but we were told we couldn’t access it and the ladder was taken down…. My son was bummed out because of that. - There’s not a lot of places to go inside for privacy/separation BUT again, it’s not a bad place to be stuck. - Not a lot to do if you get “cabin fever” so we made the drive into town a couple times. I would absolutely recommend this place for a couple with 2 kids OR it’s great if you just want to get away from the city.

Relaxing getaway

We loved the property and would stay here again. Very quiet and peaceful. This was our 1st time renting a cottage and we were pleasantly surprised with all the amenities that were provided. We 2 people had a fantastic time. The cottage is well stocked with everything needed including toys for kids, etc. We had a canoe, kayak, paddle board, wood for evening fire. Choice of being in the sun or the shade on both the dock and the deck. The spectacular views, very attentive host, made for a relaxing and enjoyable our days. The cottage itself is beautiful, immaculate, and charming, made all the more special by the craftsmanship and detail in its design. Such special memories. I am Still speechless. Thank you Greg.
