“Very clean and comfortable room. I think the bathroom had recently been renovated as it was immaculate. Excellent shower. Tea and coffee in the room. Great location. Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming.”

I spoke that evening to Steve Parfitt on reception who immediately checked the pool locker and kindly called me back to inform me that he had found it. “We had previously eaten at this hotel and were so impressed that we decided pay another visit and stay the night. We were not disappointed. The room was excellent. Every member of staff we met were warm and friendly and the cooked breakfast was superb. Appledore is such a lovely destination and a stay at the Royal George makes it all the more special. “No problems to report. New management so it takes time to adjust. Have stayed a few times not expensive. There’s always gonna be that one waitress you don’t respond too but there’s other waiters and waitresses and I won’t let this review spoil it for them! Would stay again ”

The room was clean, spacious and had a stunning view of the countryside. The water sometimes ran brown, but this is probably the only negative comment to be said. Food has always been very nice here.
