“A short stay while on the road. Clean and comfortable. Convenient.”

“Horrible. Filthy. If I could get my money back for the night I had to stay there I would. The pictures are extremely deceiving. The sheets were stained and stunk. There was no mattress protector there. Nothing was clean about the only thing that was clean was the towels that were put in the bathroom. The shampoo dispenser was broken. Thankfully I brought my own. There was baby powder all over the back of a chair for the desk that was in there the remote had tape for the TV to hold it together...

“This is our second stay at The 1857, and we’re already discussing when we can visit again. The rooms are spacious & clean. Comfortable beds, great ambiance & friendly staff.”

“My room was filthy, and reeked of urine. I specifically asked for a non smoking room, yet it REEKED of cigarette smoke. The blankets had burn holes all over, and the room was infested with flies.”

“Clean, safe, great sheets. I had everything I needed in my room. Not expecting to have to climb a flight of stairs. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Good location for historic district. I would recommend. Never saw any staff. But that was explained when I made the reservation.”

“The hotel was very clean, plus the staff was friendly. A drawback was the hot water for the shower was basically tepid at best. The water in the bathroom sink was hot. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.”

“Bathroom is very small. The only sink, is the one that is in the "kitchenette" area. Also, only 1 small trash can in the whole place. Wall AC unit was very noisy. It seems like they are trying to fix the place up, but its going to need some work.”
