Just a short drive from Perry Lake, Topeka, and Lawrence, it’s the perfect base for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike.

Unwind in the airy vaulted living area, complete with a stunning stone fireplace and cozy seating. Three bedrooms are conveniently located on the main floor, while the upstairs master suite offers a private escape with a king bed, morning coffee kitchenette, and a luxurious bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and standalone shower.

Start your mornings with a cup of coffee on the wrap-around porch, watching the sun peek through the treetops. You have access to the entire house.
The owner's residence is located in the lower level of the dwelling with separate (secured) entrances, parking and yard areas.
You will not see him unless he is needed or you let Mallory know you would like to meet him. He is a retired and friendly man that has kids and grandkids and loves the outdoors.

Family weekend retreat

This is the perfect place to get away from the hustle of every day life and enjoy some peace and quiet. It's like very high end camping. We saw deer in the yard on 2 different occasions and there is lots of room outdoors for children to ride bikes and play outdoor games. The swingset was a hit with our toddlers and babies and the trails were enjoyed by the teens. We enjoyed the spacious porches, beautifully decorated house and all the thoughtful amenities the host prepared for us. We didn't mind the gentleman in the basement at all. I only hope we weren't too noisy for him. The worst part about our stay here was that it was too short. You will not regret booking this place especially if they replace the firm mattresses with some that are a bit more comfy....unless of course, you like very firm mattresses.

Beautiful cabin

We really enjoyed our stay! The cabin was beautiful, with plenty of open spaces, and lots of games to play. The property is gorgeous with a big open field for playing - we enjoyed playing baseball and football. The wrap around porch was enjoyable and the enclosed porch was a perfect spot to relax when the bugs came out in the evening. We'd definitely stay here again if we come back to the area!

Beautiful home & the location is so peaceful & relaxing…. Amazing kitchen so well stocked with things for meals including lovely range & refrigerator. Our favorite place was the back screened in deck/porch. Amazing morning coffee and breakfast area. Very pleased !

Great home!

This was a great house for our group of 7. There are a couple of miles of dirt/gravel roads though, so take note if you’re on motorcycles like us. The first night we were there, they were expecting strong/severe storms in the area and I couldn’t get the host to respond to see if we could park in the garage or barn to protect our bikes. She finally did respond after the storms were pretty much over and did not offer any solution in case it stormed the following night. Other than that this place was wonderful! Comfy beds, nice and clean, and we loved the wrap around porch! Kudos to the host for the extra touches! Always nice to find a few snacks and bottles of water left for us! There is a man who lives in the basement, but we never saw him until we were almost ready to leave. He was looking for his kittens which we’d been enjoying watching them play all weekend. All in all a great rental, especially if you like nature and seclusion.

This was by far the cleanest VRBO I have ever stayed at. So many nice touches, plenty of towels and a great place to get away from it all. Enjoyed our stay!

The property was great, the communication from the host was terrible, everything was going great until about 30 minutes before we were to arrive we get a message stating "wanted to make sure you seen that the property owner lives in the basement" Shock!!!! I don't know this man, I have grandchildren all under the age of 10 with us, how are we to know what kind of person this is that lives in a cabin by himself in the woods? Needless to say we had no other options but to stay at this point. Very deceitful of the host. she said it is on the site on the bottom left, but it isnt I have looked and looked and took photos of the listing and nothing on there. My daughter couldn't sleep either night as she was worried for her children and or everyone else. Not saying this person is a bad person as we don't know, but you cant trust any one in this day and age anymore and to only be told 30 minutes prior to arrival is totally unacceptable.
