  • Welcome to this stunning 1790 Norman longère, beautifully restored to blend authenticity, comfort, and elegance. Nestled in peaceful countryside, surrounded by open fields, this 160 m² home offers the perfect setting for relaxation, togetherness, and discovery.

    Here, every stone tells a story. And the story of the D-Day landings begins... right at your doorstep. Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc, the American Cemetery in Colleville, and Arromanches are just minutes away. You are truly in the beating heart of the D-Day heritage—an unparalleled place of memory.

    The ground floor features four spacious living areas filled with natural light, generous volumes, and quality materials. The main lounge invites convivial moments with family or friends, while an adjacent English-style lounge offers a cozy TV corner, a foosball table, and a large workspace for two—ideal for remote work with high-speed fiber internet.

    The fully equipped kitchen is ready for all your culinary desires, from a quick toast to a full raclette dinner with friends. It includes a dining area for up to 8 guests.

    Upstairs, the sleeping quarters offer two elegant master bedrooms, each with a premium 160x200 bed for a truly restful night’s sleep. Two additional spacious bedrooms, each with two 90x200 beds and the same high-quality mattresses, are perfect for children or adults alike.

    The bright, refined bathroom includes a bath/shower combo, WC, and a beautiful double sink made of lava stone.

Lovely stay

The house is perfectly situated to visit all the D-Day Landing beaches as well as Bayeux, Mont St Michel and beyond. The house itself is very well equipped, all the creature comforts and comfortable too. Lovely secluded and quiet area with cos to say hello to each morning in the field. The jacuzzi and spa area was a nice retreat to go to after a long day. We would definitely recommend this property to future guests.

History and Family Time in the French Countryside

My father, a history buff who is turning 83 this year, had always wanted to visit the WWII beaches, so of course I had to make his wish come true. When I found No.2 By the Fields, I knew I had found the perfect quaint setting and it did not disappoint. The cottage is perfectly situated between all of the historic sites, but still far enough away to give you the feeling of a quiet country setting, and yet close enough to town for late night pizza and wine; a dream location! It looks true to the photos, and the kids beds (that my best friend and I slept in) were super comfy. All the little details of the place make it super unique and nostalgic. My family and I had a wonderful time and would love to bring other friends and family back at some point to experience the beauty of Normandy and its remarkable history.
