This was our first visit to Royal Sands. It was amazing. Really loved it. Here’s my Cole’s notes: - check in was so slow, and we were exhausted from a crazy early flight. It took over 90 minutes to check in and we were so cranky! Terrible first impression and we were so worried! -after the check in, everything else was amazing! -food was great, exactly on par for a 4 star resort -as expected, a few dinner spots were reservation only, and they were all great. Buffet was also really nice, lots of authentic options and lots to keep my picky kids fed. -service was exceptional. We did the regular all inclusive with no perks, and we were treated extremely well. -we felt safe at the pools and on the beach, even when leaving our pool bags while grabbing lunch. -never an issue finding a pool seat, even when waking at 8 or 9 am -room was amazing! Double Murphy bed, king size. It was better than many city condos! -there was surcharge for many food and drink options but we didn’t feel obligated to use them, we stayed very basic, no extra charges and felt comfortable asking or clarifying which items were included. - our kids, 6 and 7 had a great time in the kid pool. And other patrons were family forward, even if they didn’t have kids. -pool bar opened at 11am, which was totally fine with us! Closed at 8ish, but at that time the pool was empty anyway. The sports bar was open late. Highly recommend. Perfect 4 star family all inclusive.

We had dead cockroaches in our rooms. All of the floors are so slippery. The staff was wicked aggressive with upselling , trying to get us to sit in the time share schpeel. Lied to us about the adventure we were planning to attempt. You have to give your room key to every staff member for meals, which means you have to sit and wait for forever to get your “tab” and sign for a zero dollar receipt. You have a very limited “all inclusive” menu as well

This is one of the worst hotel I’ve been in Cancun and to be honest to pay $600 per night for a hotel that has dirty rooms, room service wakes you up at 9 o’clock knocking on your door, as well. This hotel has no shower gel and they use soap like in 1975.. they give you one small bottle of shampoo for two people for the whole four days. I had to ask for two more as it was impossible to wash yourself with one small bottle of shampoo. Who is using soap bars in 2024? I’ve stayed at Royalton, Ritz Carlton (Keminsky), and their prices are under this hotel, and the service was amazing. Here the service is a total mess. We will definitely never come back here. When we arrived in the front of our door was a coffee pot and the mug that stayed for three days over there, left by the previous client. Nobody picked it up for three days. .

This resort is a timeshare and right ay check in I was being pushed to attend a timeshare. Reservations for the restaurants were hard to get and there is an upcharge at all the restaurants for specific items. I didn't like that we had to give our room key at evry bar and restaurant when it is supposed to all inclusive. Some of the staff were not welcoming especially those at the pool bar.

There have been many changes with new management since July 2023 and NONE of the changes have been to the benefit of the patrons booking the all inclusive packages. They are putting in a ton of money for a water park and there has been a loss of restaurant options so during the transition phase of other new steakhouse and Asian restaurants opening up next year the current all inclusive package deal pales in comparison to what other resorts are offering.

The Royal Sands was the perfect medium sized all inclusive. Super clean, good food and the rooms are huge! As you may or may not know the ocean in the hotel zone is pretty rough, but being that Royal Sands has sister resorts, we were able to take free shuttles to Royal Cancun where the water is much calmer for my 6 year old. Overall great stay and the only minor downside I would say is the constant timeshare meeting pitches. However, with that said if I was interested in a timeshare I would definitely get one here. Nacho my man, I'll do it next time I promise lol

I have stayed at this property for the last three years and it seems to be going downhill. From service (mainly concierge being unfriendly), feeling like you are second class if you are not a member or owner, the cleanliness has gotten worse, and they have limited dining compared to what they used to. The food is not that good anymore, especially the room service and limited dining.

The resort was clean, the pool was clean, food was pretty good most of the time despite alot of buffets. I was not a fan of the surcharge on food and alcohol at all. If its an all inclusive hotel then it should be just that- Too many extra costs. I really did not like that I had to give my room key and sign a reciept for everything even with no extra purchase. This really slowed service. MOST of the staff seemed to not like their job, not real friendly compared to other resorts. The cashless resort was a surprise. I had plenty of cash to spend but chose to be more conservative with the credit card purchases. I had to beg for coffee despite the fact that the room had a coffee maker. Most 4 star resorts provide in room coffee. The mini bar fridge was only stocked with 2 beers. They could really go a long way with a few adjustments but this resort overall was mediocre in my experience.

I did not like the very long waiting time of service. Also, the toilet got clogged several times over the week. Long lines in the Restaurants. I liked the ocean, pool, clean rooms, tasty food, activities, and convenient transportation.

I love this property! It is very clean and the staff is wonderful! The food is pretty good, but I would like more options. The bed was not very comfortable this time, it was too hard and springy feeling. I have stayed here a couple of times and overall I am very pleased.

I’ve been going here for 6 years and love it.. however, I was disappointed to see that there isn’t a buffet dining option at the Veranda 6 days a week. They have turned it into restaurant style dining 6 days a week and the menu items are very limited. At least when it’s buffet style you have many different food options. It seems very stressful on the staff to wait on so many tables. We waited an hour for our food.

I loved the way beach access and beautiful pool areas but the most annoying part is that you have to give your room card for every meal and then it takes so long to get it back. Then they expect extra tips on top of the gratuities already included. Wouldn’t go back for these reasons. All the other resorts I’ve stayed at did not require you to give your room key to eat and then expect extra tips.

The property was nice and clean and staff was also great. Our room was cleaned and fridge was replenished daily. One thing that we didn’t like was the constant hounding of going to the timeshare presentation. Right as you are checked in, the concierge takes you to your room and gives you this long speech when all you really want to do is just wind down and get settled from your long long day of travel. We knew we were not going to buy into anything and didn’t feel like wasting 90 mins of our short trip sitting thru something that was only going to give us a slight discount on excursions but nonetheless you just keep getting hounded. Also the breakfast options at the buffet was really repetitive, they should look to switch it up now and then. The Ala Carte restaurants were all good. Would we stay here again? Probably not but it was not a bad option just not for us.

We always enjoy staying at The Royal Sands. The only thing that I feel.like could be corrected is the All Inclusive options were limited. I suggest having more than 1 beer option and offering the buffets in the evenings woukd be nice.

Beach access is convenient. As were beach shades (thatches) and beach chair system - using flags to indicate/reserve available chairs which you can leave unattended for up to an hour.

Our recent trip to Royal Sands in Mexico was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, we were swept away by the resort's charm, hospitality, and attention to detail. As a family, we've had our fair share of travels, but this experience truly stood out as one of the best. Each meal was amazing and they have it all. Whether we were dining by the pool with Manuel, Alexis, Mario and Angel, enjoying a beachfront sunset dinner, or indulging in the offerings at the specialty restaurants and buffets, every dish was amazing. Kudos to the entire staff. We had Piedad and Karla at the buffet and they were amazing. The entertainment at Royal Sands was top-notch. We were treated to a variety of shows, live music, and themed events that kept us entertained throughout our stay. It was refreshing to see such talented performers putting on memorable performances night after night. The amenities at the resort were also wonderful. The pools were in perfect condition and had just the right amount of activity. Not to boring, not too crowded. We also took advantage of the spa services. We got an incredible couples massage from Abril and Ruth on the 4th floor terrace! What truly sets Royal Sands apart is its impeccable service. Every staff member we encountered went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Thank you to everyone - Fer, Wilmer, Miguel and Santiago. You're all doing a great job!

Pros: -Amazingly beautiful beach -Extremely friendly staff, very helpful concierges -One of the cheaper options in the area -Very nice pools and swim up bars -Clean facility overall Cons: -Did get food poisoning from one of the restaurants. Difficult to rank it higher after that -Food overall was not bad but fairly mediocre -The “All inclusive” excludes roughly 1/3 to 1/2 of the food depending on where you eat -Not much to do at the resort if you are looking for activities compared to others in the area -The hours of the bars are VERY limited for an all inclusive, only opening at 11 and many closing quite early Overall: We enjoyed it for the beach and the price, but likely better options in the area. And the food poisoning definitely knocked it down a star as well.

If you want to get Salmonella, visit this damn place. We were a group of 7 and 6 of us got so sick in April 2024.

We stayed there about 3 years ago. The food was great. This time the food was not. All the pastries tasted the same and the main courses were less than stellar. Was disappointed this time.
