Located on the Shore's best soft sand beach, enjoy a mile and a half stroll morning, noon, or night. Extensive porches offer ample outdoor seating perfect for dining al fresco and soaking in spectacular sunsets. Gorgeous, reclaimed walnut floors, exquisite spa-like bathrooms, gourmet kitchen, outdoor fireplace, spacious rooms, and so much more. The impressive custom window package brings the outside in and allows for dramatic and expansive views of the deep blue colors of the Chesapeake Bay. A rec room includes a large sectional sofa, a movie-theatre experience with digital projection, 8' screen, and surround sound. A short drive to the charming and historic coastal town of Cape Charles offers shopping, dining, art galleries, marinas, jet ski, kayak, & bicycle rentals, fishing charters, boat ramps, and more! At Beauty on the Beach, guests may book golf tee times at Bay Creek as well and pay a per person rate at the Pro Shop at the time of playing. You will receive an email with a form to fill out & submit.

Stunning location and house. The house was very comfortable with a large group, with plenty of seating inside and out. Very well-maintained. Loved having the extra TV/ping pong table room (kids could sprawl their toys out during the day and we could use it during the evenings and not worry about waking up the kids). We spent hours on the beach, swimming, kayaking everyday. The water stays shallow for quite a distance. The one negative is the lack of beach on the house’s property. During our stay, even during low tide, the water went all the way to the rocks and steps. Thankfully, the neighbors saw us struggling to carry our kids and chairs down and insisted we use their beach access and also let us park ourselves on the beach that was technically on their property. I might hesitate to rent again for that reason, but would probably risk it again. There is not far to walk on the beach, but it is an incredible, quiet location with so much wildlife and a marsh nearby. Loved watching the many species of crabs and herons and incredible sunsets.

Amazing stay

We had a great stay at this property! It was the perfect house for multiple families. We had 3 families with 6 kids under 5. Everyone had their own space and it was easy to spread out. The location on the water was great and the outdoor space was perfect. We loved the wood burning and gas fireplace options. The outdoor furniture was comfortable and really good quality. It did not feel like a cheap rental property space at all. The kitchen was fully stocked with so many things and the house felt very homey. An added bonus was the blinds in every room that made it really dark and great for kids not waking up at sunrise. The movie/play room was awesome for the kids too. Only complaint was there were A LOT of fruit flies that were really difficult to keep out of the kitchen. This is likely just due to the location on the bay/time of year and was not a cleanliness issue of the house at all, however it was annoying. Overall the house was amazing and we would definitely rent again!

A quiet paradise

I am not exaggerating when I say that this is the single most beautiful place I have ever stayed in. Everything was even better than we expected. The rooms are so big and the common places luminous and cozy. The house was super clean, the kitchen well stocked, the barbecue and fire pits worked well. Communication with the host was easy and efficient. The backyard is the stuff of dreams and the private beach simply makes you feel like you live on your own private island. I cannot recommend this place enough, I’m already thinking of going back. And don’t get me started on the sunsets ! 11/10, worth every penny.

Great Stay

Highly enjoyed our time at this well appointed property! The kitchen had everything you could need, the game room was a hit, and the kids loved their own room together. Couldn’t beat the firepit at night and the sound system that allowed for some family dance parties during the most incredible sunsets. What a lovely place to wait out Hurricane Debby (and much better weather than we could have hoped for during a hurricane week)!

Another great stay

This was our family's second visit, requested by the grandkids. The house is in a great location, we enjoyed the beach and time in Cape Charles looking in shops, eating and having delicious ice cream at The Brown Dog ice cream store. The media room is great for family activities, the kitchen is well equipped and the beds are comfortable.

Relaxing and Comfortable Home

The house is warm and welcoming and oh so easy to relax into. The location is great and it's about a ten minute drive into Cape Charles. The sitting area down by the shore is a lovely place to watch the waves and the birds. The beach is available at low tide and the tide tables are easy to look up. Walking on the beach is best a couple of hours before low tide and a couple of hours after.

Amazing!

We had such a wonderful time at Beauty on the Beach. We were a large group of 12 friends (3 families) reuniting after years apart. We had more than enough space, even losing track of each other at times. The home is beautiful, clean and very well stocked. The kids loved having the bunk room as their little hide away. We so enjoyed all the nature the eastern shore has to offer: crabs, dolphins, horseshoe crabs, hermit crabs, etc. Doug could not have been more accommodating. There was a large thunderstorm while we were there and we partially lost the HVAC system (not a complaint at all, just speaking to how awesome Doug is!) He was on top of it, sending a crew over immediately and even followed up to make sure we were comfortable. We made so many wonderful memories and will for sure be back. Thank you so much for everything!

Truly lives up to its name-It is a Beauty!

Our stay at Beauty on the Beach was OUTSTANDING! The house is truly spectacular! It is beautifully furnished and well stocked. The kitchen was amazing and extremely well equipped with pots, pans, dishes etc.. The bunk room above the garage was a huge hit with the kids- they loved their cousin sleepovers and had fun playing pirates and princesses. The TV viewing room was also a favorite along with the ping pong table-with some close family games played among the adults. The bedrooms were large and beds were very comfortable- room for everyone!!! We used the fire place for smores and the gas fireplace for fireside chats at night. The beach was wonderful for the kids and adults. It was truly a wonderful vacation for the whole family!

One of my Best VRBO Experiences to Date

This was one of the best VRBO stays that we have had the pleasure of experiencing. The house is great. It has large open spaces to accommodate any group. The beds are super comfy and the kitchen is extremely well appointed. It was unusually cold when we visited, but it didnt matter. We had a great time relaxing in the house and on the back porch watching the sunset and enjoying the warmth that the sun provided. There is also great access to lots of towns and activities nearby. We look forward to coming back soon.

Perfect House for Family Vacation

As other reviewer have said, the pictures do not do this property justice. It is big, immaculate and accomodated all our needs. We were a family of 13 - parents, children and grandparents. The kids loved the 'hangout' room over the garage and the adults loved having their own king suites. The beach and water were perfect especially being able to walk out to the sandbar at low tide. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to the Eastern Shore.

Cape Charles Retreat

My family loved and throughly enjoyed our vacation at Cape Charles! This house was absolutely beautiful and offered plenty of space for our family of six adults and three children (ages 10, 3 and 1). You could see the bay from the window of the house and the short walk was very convenient with little ones. The yard and patio were big enough to relax, play games, utilize the fireplace, and even have water balloon fights. After staying here we are definitely spoiled and can never go back to having to walk even a block to the beach/bay. My family would highly recommend this home and thank you for letting us stay and enjoy a fun and relaxing week.

Beauty on the Beach is the best!

Property was great for a family of varying ages and physical ability. Beach is very sandy and good for young explorers, and the water shallow. The new fire pit and terrace are ideal additions. The bedroom/bathroom ratio works well; the loft area and media room are ideal for teenagers. Great kitchen layout. We appreciated access to a washer/dryer and all the amenities not normally supplied through a VRBO rental. Thank you for a great family vacation location!

Summer of 2022 in Cape Charles

We actually rented this house and the one next door. My wife and I have 6 adult children with their significant other and 12 grandkids. The grandkids ages go 2-12 yr olds 1-9 yr old 2- 7 yr olds 3-4 yr olds 3-2yr olds and an infant. There was plenty of space for everyone to sleep. The yards were great for everyone to play the water/beach was very private. The golf course was spectacular (Bay Creek). The house was beautiful with the large recreational room and magnificent views. The four bedrooms were like 4 master bedrooms. We had an excellent week

The "Inner Banks".

The house and property are absolutely first rate and all o fit is as described in the rental links. Very comfortable home to stay in for a get-a-way with friends. Our group of 6 are all over 70 years old and we have known each other for 55+ years. the audio visual room was a real perk with lots of movies to choose from. We did a James "Bond-a-thon". The only negative was we did not have internet service and one couple had AT&T with no signal at the house. When WiFi is advertised it should also state if there is an internet connection. We realize from a phone call to the realty company that there is internet work going on in the area but that would have been nice to know ahead of time.

Quiet, gorgeous, relaxing, wonderful!

The house exceeded expectations. It was clean, comfortable and welcoming. The property was stunning and the view was amazing. The outdoor fireplace was fun at night, we brought our bikes and the rides were lovely.

Perfect Beach vacation!!

Gorgeous setting, lovely home

Everything smooth, attentive to needs while there! House is well appointed, beautifully decorated yet very comfortable. Tons of space for family of 11. Loved having our private beach and calm, warm bay waters. The ONLY shortcoming (which is not the property owners fault!) would be WiFi coverage for those working remotely. Hopefully broadband will come to the area soon!

Beauty on the Beach Family Vacation

The property and amenities that were provided couldn’t be a better vacation spot for a large family vacation. We enjoyed two weeks of the beautiful view and home with everything a renter could ask for - so nicely decorate, clean linens, pantry filled with all of the necessities of home yet we were on vacation! Would recommend and would go back again…and thanks to Blue Heron for going that extra step to take care of us!

Beauty on the beach indeed

This was a wonderful house. Beach was nice and right in front of the house after the big yard. Bedrooms each had their own bath. The room above the garage is away from the rest of the house but still nice -that one did not have a bathroom. Wish there was a ramp to go on the beach, but it just had stairs. Really wish they had a pool but still enjoyed out stay.

Hidden gem

Our family had a relaxing week at this lovely house. It was plenty spacious for the 10 of us and kitchen was fully stocked. Beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed the beachy decor. We loved the private beach the most and saw many beautiful sunsets. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation this place won’t disappoint.

Beauty on the Beach is a winner!

House layout was great for those not able to handle stairs since common space was entirely on main floor, as well two bedrooms/baths. Beach was nice; neighbors a bit grouchy. Any problems incurred were handled promptly by property manager. Lawn was plenty big for outdoor games and activities. The sunsets were fantastic!
