    Messico da una parte e Pine Island Sound dall'altra. Siamo su a
    isola barriera appena ad ovest di Fort Myers, in Florida. Siamo 500 acri di
    riserva naturale della fauna selvatica ... che offre bombardamenti di fama mondiale,
    fogliame e alberi subtropicali, uno sguardo su oltre 100 specie di
    migrazione di uccelli nidificanti e di vita marina in via di estinzione.
    delfini
    e il lamantino gioca sulle nostre coste su quest'isola privata. abbiamo
    né banchine pubbliche o strutture pubbliche. Non ci sono ponti
    per connetterci alla terraferma. Siamo una razza in via di estinzione, uno dei
    ultime isole vere negli Stati Uniti. Abbiamo 4 miglia del
    spiagge più belle e serene si trovano ovunque su questa terra.
    IL WINTERHAVEN
    A pochi secondi dalla spiaggia, la nostra casa completamente arredata offre un servizio unico
    stile di vita invertito. Il primo piano, posto sopra i 10 piedi
    palificazioni
    dispone di 2 camere da letto, 2 verande schermate e 2 bagni. Sul secondo
    piano troverete un ampio soggiorno e zona pranzo con cattedrale
    soffitto. Un'intera parete composta da porte e finestre scorrevoli in vetro
    di fronte al Golfo non solo ti dà una vista spettacolare del
    acqua e quei bellissimi tramonti ma consente anche l'accesso ad un
    ampia terrazza prendisole.

    Vola a Fort Myers ... prendi un taxi o noleggia un'auto a Pineland Marina
    su Pine Island. Prima di uscire di casa, chiamare la società di gestione.
    Dì loro a che ora arriva il tuo aereo e ti diranno dove

    fermarsi per le disposizioni sulla strada per il taxi d'acqua. Al molo tu
    sarà accolto da un rappresentante del
    società di gestione che trasporterà i bagagli e

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was located within walking distance of miles of public beach and the cart was handy for excursions to the other side of the Island

This house has a perfect location: steps from Sunset Beach and all N Captiva is known for. Allen is an excellent and very attentive host. He helped us navigate the (now, admittedly modest) complexities of getting to the Island and getting situated. The location is very quiet in all the best ways. This was an ideal “getaway” location! Access to the Safety Harbor Club amenities was a huge bonus. Plus tons a key amenities at The Winterhaven (filtered water, nice golf cart, bikes, cooking basics).

Family Time

We traveled with our granddaughter and my husband’s mother. Use of the golf cart, access to the pool and a perfect location just steps to the beach all added up to a wonderful first time on the island. Great communication with the owner and on-island management was terrific.

Wonderful Beach Home, fantastic location

Highly recommended. Lovely beach home just a few steps from one of the best beaches in Southwest Florida. Guest services were spot on, and the host is instantly available for any questions. North Captiva is a magical and beautiful place. If you have a chance to come to Southwest Florida don’t miss this great home and glorious location.

Solid beach house

Hurricane Ian damaged much of North Captiva Island and many of the beach houses. This house survived with no apparent damage, has everything you need for a wonderful week and is only three lots from one of the prettiest beaches in the USA.

Wonderful time in paradise

We so enjoyed our stay at Winterhaven…. Very comfortable, sparkling clean, well equipped and fantastic location. We had excellent communication with Allen (the home owner), who was flexible and very helpful. Sherman (the property manager) was prompt, friendly and immediately available as needed. Debbie (Fresh Pick Grocery Service) is the best. Location just a short walk from the best beach on the island. Love the gentle sound of surf. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this home for a laid back visit to paradise.

Week in paradise

Our family had a fantastic time staying here. Other than some dirty dishes and issues with the electric golf cart, we enjoyed all of our time. The property owner was very quick to respond to inquiries and the property was in good condition relative to the price to stay there. Access to the Safety Harbor Club ameneties provide a much calmer experience with far fewer people compared to the Island Club pool, and you can always head to Mangos for a drink or bite to eat. The property itself is within easy walking distance to the beach and nature trail. The house is also setup perfectly for a family of four. We used Island Girl Charters and Fresh Pick food delivery service, with zero issues.

Would return

As always, North Captiva is a wonderful destination for those seeking an entirely relaxing vacation without any agendas. The island is still recovering from the September hurricane such that there is a fair amount of debris and damaged homes, but the ideal weather and surrounding nature make up for these transient negative aspects. The home is well apportioned and within walking distance to the beach. The only negative feature is that the extra sofa bed is located in the master bedroom, which provides scant privacy for those using the master bed. (There is a sliding wall but the sofa bed is bigger than the sliding wall’s circumference. ) Would return as a party of four, rather than five, as we did. Overall, recommended.

Island in rebuild mode, beaches are fantastic

This was exactly what we needed! The house provided us a place to lay our heads until we could get back out to the real attraction, the beach. It had been many years since I had last been to the island and the hurricane did impact nearly every property, except this one! The house was clean and comfortable and allowed us to cook dinner each night. We would have enjoyed a dinner out but there are currently no dinner restaurants open on the island. Or breakfast for that matter. Not the host’s fault obviously. Make sure to bring all you need (or order groceries ahead of time) and you will be ok. We managed ok but would have been nice to have that information updated on Google. But if your goal is to relax in place a less than two min walk from the beach, on a modest budget, then this place hits the mark.

The inside of the house was pretty clean except for the bedroom with the three twin beds or should I say two twin beds and trundle bed. We had to move the dresser to even pull out the trundle bed and it was filthy behind the dresser we had to get the vacuum cleaner out and vacuum before we could even pull the bed out. Which it should have been pulled out before we even arrive there because they knew that we had two children with us and four adults so therefore we were gonna need three beds in that one bedroom. It was very hard to get the trundle bed out. it was very hard to get the shower and water turned on in the bathtub and once you got it on, it was very hard to get it turned off needs a new faucet on the bathroom. The furniture was not comfortable to sit or lay on my husband, had to sleep on the couch upstairs to have enough room and it was very uncomfortable. The outside look like a jungle, the palm tree hit the top of the golf cart every time we came in needed to be graded because the sand was so thick trying to get in the driveway. The grill was horrible. The house needs updating the towels and wash cloths were dingy, and some of them were torn and had holes in them. The beach chairs some of them were all rusted out. We were even afraid to sit in them afraid we would fall on the ground. It definitely wasn’t like the picture that we saw online , far from it. We would like to thank the owner for allowing us to arrive early and to leave late. Property manager was great.

Comfortable home on a beautiful island with amazing beach!

Overall, we absolutely loved it here! We even stayed an extra night. Allen's home is an incredibly short walk to the beach, even our 3 year old made the walk multiple times per day. The home itself is simple but comfortable. Our biggest concern was that the spindles of the upper floor balcony, staircase, and decks were spaced pretty far apart so that our 1 year old could squeeze between them. We created barriers using the counter stools and other furniture, so we did not have to be constantly vigilant for her safety. The house (and entire island) had no corkscrews to open a bottle of wine, so plan accordingly! The wifi is slow as advertised, which made our (unfortunately) necessary work obligations challenging, but we were able to use the hotspots on our phones to get our work completed. Totally realize that it would be even better to have the luxury of being completely unplugged, but that was not our reality. We would definitely come back - absolutely cannot beat the location! The island is very family friendly, and we made so many great family memories!

Awesome location

We enjoyed our time on North Captiva Island. The location is perfect—a very short walk to a nice beach. The house isn’t fancy but certainly adequate and comfortable. We had everything we needed. Allen was responsive and helpful with getting everything set up for transportation to the island. Sherman picked us and our luggage up and brought us back the day of departure. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable time there.

Needs some investing

Pros: Island is beautiful, quiet, and full of wildlife for sure! Slow pace and relaxing get away. House is clean. All basic necessities are available at the house. Cons: The house is well equipped with everything needed, but most things of very poor quality, ragged, falling apart, rusted, and need upgrading. Just felt like there had been no investments in the property in a long time. Kitchen supplies, beach supplies, bath towels, bedding, “upgraded” golf cart, etc. All in need of TLC.

Great family destination

The property met expectations for a budget friendly beach vacation at an exclusive island destination. We really enjoyed our time on the island and the property's location is excellent. Logistics for a destination like this can be daunting, but communication with Allen was excellent. The property management helped us arrive and depart as planned. Everyone was very friendly. Easiest 5-Stars I ever handed out.

Easiest 5-Stars I ever handed out. Our week didn't begin all that well due to flight delays and missing our water taxi. However, because of the taxi's familiarity with the island process, he was able to help us with a later water taxi to North Captiva. The owner recommended this taxi service, and I'm so thankful he did. We also had an unfortunate breakdown of our golf cart. But, the manager (Sherman) handling our rental, was unbeleiveable. He was right on it and had us a replacement cart almost immediately. Sherman is the BEST! The house was as beautiful as advertised and the island life was spectacular. A very short two-minute walk to the beach. I had so many questions leading up to our trip, and the owner (Allen) always responded immediately to my inquiries... truly impressive.

Close to beach and affordable.

We arrived a bit later than expected and Sherman was a gem and got us settled in. The house is very close to the beach and the golf cart was a nice addition to the house. A must for the island. Watching the birds and wildlife from the deck was wonderful.

Laid Back Vacation

There are many good things about this property. Although the exterior is looking in need of some upkeep, the interior has had a face lift sometime in the last decade. It was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed to feel comfortable and relaxed. It is only a few minutes from the beach, where we spent a lot of time. The beach on this part of the island is very deep and we could walk a long ways. It’s also great for shelling. Others before us have written of problems with the golf cart. We also experienced some kind of apparent electrical problem on the last two days. It’s pretty ancient and probably needs to be replaced. We were also challenged by the grills. They are charcoal, not gas, and although we were prepared with supplies we needed, their small size made it very difficult to prepare the meals for our family size. They are also old and one leg had rusted off. However, our vacation goal was to truly relax, and we certainly were able to do that. We particularly enjoyed the large upper deck and the comfortable living room. Long walks, sunrises and sunsets on the beach, and the club pool were fantastic!
