We spent a week at the Masseria (and would have liked to extend our stay to a month!). We had a long drive coming from northern Italy and were all tired when we arrived. The house and courtyard are so beautiful that we immediately felt relaxed and happy. We had activities planned for our first full day in Puglia, but could not get ourselves to leave this beautiful home!
Our week flew by and we were able to visit part of Puglia (Arborabello, Lecce, Otranto, Grotta de la Poesia, Santa Maria de Leuca, Porto Badisco for kayaking), but we will definitely have to go back, because it's a wonderful region of the country and we have so much more to see.
The house is very comfortable. We are a family of five and only needed three bedrooms, but two more are available. All bedrooms are air-conditioned, which made our sleep very pleasant (and the rooms are completely dark when the shutters are closed). The kitchen is very well-equipped and we had every breakfast at one of the two outdoor dining tables; there's also an outdoor bbq (hibachi type). The pool is as inviting as the pictures show, we spent a lot of time in there! There's a terrace on top of the house and we were treated to fireworks one evening (great timing on our part!). The olive grove is beautiful and we walked around the property every day.
Paola was very helpful with everything, including restaurant recommendations (L'Altro Baffo in Otranto was excellent).
We often rent houses on Homeaway and this house is certainly at the top of our list. We had a wonderful stay and can't wait to go back!
