The balcony view was nice and the staff was friendly but one night I was questioned if i brought someone into my room. The rules state that you must check in all guests if they would like to enter the hotel. I clearly understood the rules yet i was still questioned at 11:30pm which is completely inappropriate and unprofessional in my opinion.

Likes. Centrally located on the edge of the amurallada with a very good view of the city from the top deck. The breakfast is a full one and not a Continental one, which was a pleasant surprise. Very friendly and helpful staff. Dislikes. Management closes the deck at 8pm. Way too early. My wife and I wanted to use the jacuzzi in the evening and see the city at night.

Very nice property right at the edge of the old city.. Staff were wonderful, very accommodating and helpful with a variety of requests.. , included breakfast was fantastic in a lovely little dining room. Very reasonable rates!! Highly recommended

Disappointed
I had to go to another hotel across the street to check in and to be buzzed in. Everytime I came and left, I had to be buzzed in. I was hustled to get my room for two people. Stating I only get one person per room... I showed them my booking was 1 room two adults. I traveled solo but I didn't like the fact they wanted a payoff to get my room to what I booked.... if I wanted guess they told me I had to pay an additional 80 US dollars.

The hotel is a great place to begin a walk on top of the wall that surrounds most of the Centro Historico. It's within easy walking distance to lots of restaurants, museums and pubs. Our room overlooked a busy traffic loop and had a view of the castle (about 25 minutes away on foot). Alexey bought the Nautilus and adjoining property about 11 months ago and is working hard with David and staff to continually improve and enhance the buildings and services.

Hotel limpo, bom cafe da manha e funcionários prestativos. Ficamos primeiramente num quarto pequeno que possuía uma ligação de ar com o restaurante que fica logo abaixo. Na primeira noite fizeram dedetização neste restaurante e o cheiro do inseticida subiu para o quarto. Os funcionários muito solícitos nos mudaram de quarto imediatamente. Localização boa e wi-fi oscilante.

Shopping and eating within walking distance
Rooms are small but for my wife and me it was great. Price was excellent staff gets a 5 star my room had a balcony which I spent a lot of time enjoying the cool breeze. I will definitely book here again on my next vacation too much to see and do in a week

O hotel está localizado na entrada das muralhas e logo ao lado a circulação me pareceu um pouco perigosa. O quarto tinha uma varanda com vista para uma pequena área ( tipo praça) que fica repleta de motoristas de táxi e pedintes. Local muito barulhento, inclusive, com um senhor que fica organizando, aos berros, transporte em táxi compartilhado. Não tem recepção. O café da manhã e o atendimento acontecem eu uma pousada do outro lado da rua. Importante: não tem chuveiro com água quente e essa informação não estava disponível.

Interesting location with great view
Our corner room had a brilliant view over busy intersection, bit of old wall and some harbour, with full length glass sliding door onto little balcony and wood internal shutter and blinds to keep out heat and noise. Right on edge of old city. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Hotel de paso a muy buen precio
Es un hotel de paso, me toco una habitacion con balcon hacia la calle principal y el ruido era bastante, adicional el sol todo el dia pega en la puerta de vidrio y el calor es bastante fuerte, pero finalmente por el precio pagado no puedo pedir mas, esta muy bien ubicado y la atencion de la recepcion fue muy amable

This hotel is in a great location but two street that hotel is located, are busy and very noisy. Check-in took us about 15-20 minutes, check out want me to sign an empty inv which it was resolved after they printed it, noise at night very high and room does not equip to handle it, NO heated water even when I requested to staff and they told me it was going to turn it on, waited 10 min and nothing, breakfast was good, bed are stiff and noisy as they are coved with plastic cover which made too much sound when moving in the bed, we got water in the bathroom from an opening in the bathroom which was there as decorative fixture but does not have a window and major storm that day, bathroom is not a/c.

O hotel fica bem próximo ao Castelo de San Felipe, caminho do Convento de Santa Cruz de La Popa. Ficamos uma semana e do hotel podemos andar muito pela cidade, pq ele fica dentro da Ciudad Amuralhada. Os dormitórios com sacada tem muito barulho da rua e o movimento começa cedo, de buzinas, apitos da Polícia de trânsito, gente indo trabalhar. É bom levar protetores auriculares se você tem sono leve. rs Achamos o nosso quarto e banheiro pequenos. Água do chuveiro é de morna para fria. O café da manhã é servido no restaurante e tem 2 opções: continental (presunto, queijo, pãozinho e café; ou suco) e americano (ovos mexidos com tomate e cebola, tbm podem ser servidos com café ou suco). As duas opções servem algumas fatias de frutas da estação. O ar condicionado é bom, gelou bem o quarto. Não tem frigobar. E apesar de o Hotel ser do restaurante, que por sinal tem otimas comidas, não se pode manter uma única conta (hotel e restaurante) para acerto no check out. Os atendentes são ótimos e prestativos, fomos muito bem atendidos. Se quiser coberta e secador de cabelo, tem que pedir. O guarda roupas tem cabides mas não tem comprimento para pendurar um vestido, por exemplo. Os quartos possuem cofre. São limpos diariamente. Tem mercado e ponto de táxi próximos. No geral indicaria, mas achamos outras opções com piscina pelo mesmo valor.

Wir hatten ein tolles großes Zimmer mit schönem Balkon. Zwar zur Hauptstraße, aber echt gemütlich. Das angeschlossene Restaurant ist eine Sportsbar, die auch Bundesliga zeigt. Getsemani ist ebenfalls in 5 Minuten zu erreichen.

Nice no-frills place in Cartagena historic center
Nice, reasonably priced place in Cartagena historic center (Barrio San Diego). Rooms overlook a very busy avenue/intersection, so it can be quite noisy at night. Fun to hang out in the square though! Good security 24/7. Breakfast provided.

Staying at this hotel was the WORST experience I've had being a Latin American traveling around Colombia: - Terrible STAFF, refused to help with Internet connection or change room when asked because of the incredibly LOUD noice of the rooms facing the front - LOCATION: while it is nearby to main points in the old city, it is located at one of the vehicles entrances to the city, which makes it INCREDIBLY LOUD and impossible to rest -Despite being less than 2 months old, appliances were not appropriately installed. This caused me an accident when attempting to close the glass wall in the shower, which made it break into pieces and caused several CUTS all over my body - The hotel did not have an emergency kit, nor BASIC INSURANCE when I requested the details the following day. What is worst, when I asked for an apology and some type of compensation for the accident, they refused to refund the money of my reservation - Rooms were tiny, all but comfortable. THIS IS NOT A 3 STAR HOTEL and I can't believe it is advertised on a site like Expedia

Budget hotel with friendly staff
It was an alright experience. The hotel is very small, on top of a restaurant and in the edge between the nice and the not-too-nice of Cartagena. It was a raining weekend and I had to stay inside most of the time. It is quite noisy and the bathroom, pretty small. Thumbs up for the aircon - super cold. It is more like a private room in a hostel. The staff are very friendly and helpful though.

A Study in Contrasts
This hotel has me completely puzzled. The male desk clerk was rude and surly when I arrived. I had read a review about that (written by someone who didn't speak Spanish) and so I thought there'd be no problem since I am fluent in the language. No way. The clerk was never polite or helpful. The room had recently been redecorated, everything working and in good order. The mattress was a typical one for my travels in Spanish-speaking countries: foam rubber on either a cement platform or on a wood platform (as in this case). However, the wifi never worked efficiently. When I told the male desk clerk about it, he said 'Well, it works here at the desk'. What an answer! The electricity went off in the entire city for an hour and the rest of that afternoon and night and into the morning I left, the wifi worked maybe 15 minutes at a time and the television did not ever work again. Wifi is essential nowadays. The noise level the first night was insane (all from the street). Second and third nights it was tolerable. The average mono-lingual English speaker would not want to stay here because of the noise. For anyone considering this hotel, especially if you don't speak Spanish, look elsewhere. Comparing it to a bare essentials hotel I stayed in in Santa Marta, the price is twice what it should be I also stayed in a restored colonial gem in Popayan for (the dollar equivalent) $25 per night less. It was a really nice hotel, what a hotel should be!

Great hotel in a really convient location. I was within 5-15 minutes of most attractions, walking. The Staff was phenomanal, especially Erik, I was so happy to hear him speak & comprehend English. He gave me safe local places to eat, dance & tour. His professionalism was superb and he went above & beyond to help me. Alice who checked me in was very proficient, the check in process went smooth because of her. Housekeeping was Above my expectations, the little details like putting my clothes up, bagging my dirty clothes really made me smile. Last but not Least, Thank You Ermano for all the wake up calls & knocks, it made getting to my tours on time easy.

Sorely Disappointed
When I arrived, I thought it was going to be a great experience. Good location. Small hotel that seems to have some history. After lugging my luggage up two flights of scary metal stairs (remanicent of a ship), the reception couldn't find my booking and asked me to pay - speaking no English mind you. I showed them my confirmation and even as a near fluent speaker they were completely confused. After debating for 20+ minutes in the cramped un-air conditioned lobby/hallway, I asked if I could just go up to my room and that they call Orbitz to resolve. The location seemed pleasant. Room size was bad. Could barely squeeze myself by the bed and the sharp corners of the posts kept bruising my legs and had to sleep with towels as blankets because there were none. Toilet didn't flush in room on first night back so they moved me to another room. After 2 nights of a 4 night trip, I was exhausted from all the noise and lack of sleep and left. Unlike other hotels that usually face a patio, this looks into a high traffic area. With no lights, traffic patrols direct cars through crazy intersection as motorists lay their hands on the horn. Perhaps if they had decent windows it wouldn't have been that bad, but the rickety French doors didn't even close (or lock!) all the way and one could see daylight through the cracks. This should not be a 3 star hotel. The quality and amenities (or lack thereof) should be half a star. i finally changed hotels, but regret losing so much sleep!

Bruises from bed post after only a few hours
Sharp corners and lack of space made manuvering around the room difficult (and painful!)

Very accommodating staff
Lovely stay. Great location within walking distance of everywhere you would want to go. The staff were very kind and helpful. I will return.
