“We've just returned from a 2 night stay at the Grandhotel Giessbach and wow, what a place! The hotel is certainly grand and is located in the most beautiful location I've ever seen, overlooking Lake Brienz with the Giessbach falls only metres away! The staff were all very pleasant, the breakfast was great, the bar was lovely, the Les Cascades restaurant was lovely, the surrounding park and trails were truly beautiful!
However, my only complaint is that we had to pay 15CHF per night for parking....
“the rooms was very small, without air conditioned (with outside temperature of 32°C we missed it), and a very small bathroom (no space for the sink, which was located near the beds!). the room was on the first floor right above the main street, and although the village is quite, the traffic (motorbikes) woke us up at 7. nice small terrace with lake view. breakfast at the restaurant in a nice position near the lake. we also had dinner there, not bad, but very expensive and far from Italian...
“Anne, our host, was very friendly and helpful to show us around and give suggestions. We loved everything, the quietness of the town. The breakfast was great. It would be a very good choice especially if you travel by car.
The town is a bit away from interlaken and there aren’t many dining options in town. However, it still worked out for us by bus or train if you plan well with their schedules.”

“ottima posizione a 20 mt dalle due principali funivie , camera nuova , piccola ma carica con balcone verso la parete Nord dell'Eiger ! Per una notte ok per più tempo sopratutto in inverno forse si sente la mancanza di un armadio capiente ( solo alcuni cubi aperti sul muro ) . un pò spartana la colazione anche se quello che offrono era di buona qualità . ”
“This was without a doubt our favorite stay in Switzerland. Sunstar Hotel in Grindelwald is simply amazing—the views, the atmosphere, the service, and the location are all outstanding. The staff made us feel so welcome, and the hotel itself has a warm, inviting charm.
But what truly took our breath away was the view from our room. Waking up to those stunning mountains felt like waking up in heaven—an experience that fills you with gratitude.
We will always remember our stay here and cannot wait...
“fantastico, mancava a Grindelwald un posto totalmente nuovo, come design e come concetto. Spa di livello, camera ampia e curata, ristorante molto buono.
e soprattutto personale molto cordiale e gentile.”
“It was a good stay overall. Big room.Though Room was non AC but we were provided with Table Fans (Extra one was also given upon request) and quite apt for overall weather. It was accessible from main market and can cover by walk. Bus stop was also very close. ”

We didn’t eat breakfast or use the TV lounge but both available along with communal kitchen for pm meals you can cater for yourself. Really enjoyed our stay albeit wished I’d clearly understood the bathroom was across the corridor (for our use only) and what comes with a standard room. Would have upgraded if I’d recognised this at booking. In the end no issue.”
“ParkHotel Schoenegg is in just the right place. Near to the train station, next to Grindelwald First and right around many dinning choices. The staff are all great and very helpful. The room was comfortable, clean and very quiet. The breakfast is great and their dinner is also delicious.”
