    Villa La Fontana si trova su una collina che domina il Lago Trasimeno, è circondato da una splendida pineta e ha un giardino con alberi secolari. Piante secolari come cedri e pini e aiuole costituiscono l'ampio giardino. In un angolo molto soleggiato è posizionata la piscina. Questo splendido edificio è una cornice per la natura e il paesaggio rurale circostante. La casa è situata sulle colline vicino Toscana, 210 slm, tra Castiglione del Lago e Cortona in Toscana, a breve distanza da Firenze, Roma, Siena, Perugia e Assisi.
    Una Villa di campagna del 1800 con mobili d'epoca originali in stile liberty e soffitti in legno o dipinti, dalla maggior parte delle camere o terrazze si ha una bella vista sul lago Trasimeno e sulla splendida campagna circostante.
    Di fronte alla casa ed ai lati ci sono tavoli e sedie per mangiare all'aperto. Sedie a sdraio invitano a prendere il sole. Barbecue e un vecchio forno della pizza in muratura sono vicino alla casa, anche il biliardo e il ping pong sono a disposizione per essere utilizzati.
    Una grande piscina ( 12 x 6 mt.) è a disposizione degli ospiti; la piscina è riscaldata e quindi utilizzabile anche nei periodi meno caldi.

Breathtaking view, friendly & fantastic

It’s a lovely space with very friendly people. The pool is great with a breathtaking view. The view off the lake is fantastic. The apartment is specious and has good view on the Trasimeno lake. The owner Jacopo is the best. He has a lot of good ideas of the area and food. The children enjoyed the gaming room with the ping pong etc. We would really love to come here again.

Just lovely.

Comfortable and spacious. Airco was a bliss in the hot weather. Loads of things to do in and around the property. Convenient to serve as a base to explore Umbria and Tuscany. The host was very welcoming and friendly, and easy to approach for tips or if we needed anything. For the cooks: finally an appartment with knives that actually work!

A wonderful place

We (2 adults and 4 teenagers) spent a week in this apartment at the Villa Fontana. This place is perfect in every regard. The property is big and well kept with lots of shade, overlooking a stunning view. The pool is clean and big enough. We had fun playing ping pong, foosball and pool. The kitchen is well equipped and practical. Everything is clean and you will find everything you need (towels, pool towels, hairdryer, barbecue, bikes, etc.). The host is friendly and helpful. The location of the villa is perfect to explore the beautiful cities nearby (by car). We would like to recommend this property.

Sehr schönes Anwesen mit viel Platz, Tieren und großem Pool

Die Ferienwohnung ist abgeschieden gelegen und damit sehr ruhig. Highlights auf dem großen Anwesen waren die verschiedenen Tiere - Ziegen, Hühner, Gänse und (kleine) Katzen. Ebenfalls schön ist der große Pool, in dem man auch mal ein paar Bahnen ziehen kann. Grill und Fahrräder stehen für Outdoor-Aktivitäten zur Verfügung. Die Innenausstattung ist okay. Es gab sogar eine Kaffeemaschine. Internet und damit auch Fernseher hat nicht wirklich funktioniert. Das war uns aber egal, da wir schönes Wetter hatten und auf Ausflügen oder am Pool waren. Der Vermieter ist sehr hilfsbereit. Seine Tipps zum Besichtigen und Ausgehen waren sehr hilfreich. Zusammengefasst ein schöner Urlaub!

A wonderfully memorable holiday

We want to thank Rosanna ,the Hostess of Villa la Fontana for warm hospitality. The house is very comfortable and the place is wonderful. We miss the swimming pool a lot ! And the View? GORGEOUS! The free wi-fi works inside and outside the house, We suggest to have a dinner in Panicale cause it’s so charming… we went in June 2016 and the weather was great! 25 degrees during the day and during the night the blanket were necessary cause there were 15/18 degrees! We went to visit a wine cellar (around 5kms from the house)...an amazing experience!! I hope to return one day, thanks again Rosanna.

A Tuscan Dream!

Villa La Fontana is a Tuscan villa dream! From the moment we arrived we felt blessed and relaxed. The surroundings are magnificent and serene. The villa is beautifully restored. We are a family of 4 and were spoilt for space in the house. The villa is immaculately clean and has everything you need from a home away from home. We loved having breakfast outdoors on the terrace every morning before heading out to explore for the day. The drives each day were postcard perfect! We visited the medieval towns of San Gimignano, Siena, Pienza, Montepulciano, Arezzo and Cortona. We also spent a day in Florence and a day in Assisi. The information and recommendations made in the book by Alviero and Rosanna are invaluable. There are many restaurants nearby for lunch or dinner and lots of opportunites for wine. All of this on top of the ease of exploring and tasting in both the Chianti and Brunello regions! The pool is stunning and to be able to swim daily while admiring the surrounding hills is truly amazing! We would not hesitate to stay at Villa la Fontana again, it truly was a beautiful holiday and a perfect pause in time

Wunderschönes Haus mit herrlichen Seeblick

Ein wunderschönes Haus mit herrlichem Garten und einzigartigem Seeblick. Alle Zimmer gehen zum Garten raus und man kann wirklich von jedem Zimmer die wunderschöne Aussicht auf die andere Seeseite geniessen. Das Haus ist gut ausgestattet und es fehlt an nichts. Direkt vom Haus aus kann man wunderschöne Wanderungen in noch schönere Kampagne unternehmen, man sollte nur einigermassen gut zu Fuß sein. Wir haben zwei sehr schöne Wochen hier verbracht und kommen bestimmt einmal wieder.

Superbe!

Une partie de villa avec jardin privatif et vue imprenable sur le lac. Une maison plus qu'agréable et décorée avec goût, très bien équipée (tout y est) avec feu ouvert, Castiglione del Lago est un petit pays très calme et très beau. très peu de monde, un accès facile par bateau et un bar super sympa où on mange plus que bien. Point de vue service, aucun problème (beaucoup des supermarchés dans le village). Cette location est idéale pour tout qui recherche le calme et que la marche ne rebute pas. En effet, cette villa se mérite et des paysages magnifiques. Il n'y a vraiment rien à dire : tout est parfait.

Splendid Holidays

We enjoyed our stay very much at this lovely and quiet place, with a fantastic panoramic view in this cosy house. The house has a very tasteful and personal interior. Comfortable spot, with a very kind and helpful owner. Torno the village is beautiful place, with a nice little harbour and which is not so crowded. we are sure coming back soon

Amazing Place

My family and I had a lovely week at the villa! You get it by car, so no problem for the parking, while walking you can see the beautiful scenery all around you and fell the lake atmosphere. Just take car when it's raining. The house is very cosy and the garden is amazing. Alviero, provided for us even swimming pool, perfect for our kids. The enjoyed it a lot! From the garden you have an outstanding view of the lake. Villa La Fontana too was a very nice spot and it is worth a tour. Many thank to Pietro and his family for their warm and great welcome! We would return in a heartbeat!

We spent a superb week at Villa la Fontana in the beautiful Umbrian countryside just outside the village of Ranciano. Villa la Fontana is a lovely property, nestling in the grounds of Villa, on a hill overlooking Lake Trasimeno benefitting from welcome breezes in the heat of the day. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool, which was a huge plus given the soaring summer temperatures. The early morning walks in the woods and on the scenic route of the lake, after a nice breakfast. The village of Ranciano is no more than a five minute drive away, further afield we enjoyed trips to Sienna and Montepulciano, as well as regular shopping trips to Castiglione del Lago, don't miss ice cream shop Be Bop, they have ice cream to die for. The owners agents, Alviero and Rosanna, were always available to help with our questions and made our stay very comfortable. Overall, a great find and one we hope to return to in the future.

Wonderful stay in a charming villa

The villa was beyond expectations. Large rooms, very clean and well equipped. The beautiful walls and ceilings painted with floral and Renaissance motifs have given the house a charming atmosphere. Cozy seating in the house and on the veranda and a beautiful garden with a nice pool gave us the typical Italian holiday experience. It is located in a small village with shops nearby. Short distance from Lake Trasimeno. We certainly recommend this property. Alviero, thank you for your great hospitality and we hope to visit you again.

Perfect Family Holiday

I promised my sister and her family that I would show them around my favourite part of Italy, Tuscany/Umbria; we finally managed to get away last summer. On recommendation from a friend I booked this restored farmhouse and could not have asked for more. The owner provided lots of information ahead of arrival, crucially including our driving map which took us direct to the door first time. We arrived to a lovely home; the owner has helpfully provided lots of useful information in regard to the area . The farmhouse is perfectly placed for visits out, whilst we had a car which we used for local trips, it is easy to get to the train station for the trip to Florence; we thought we would eat out most nights but found the lure of the garden and the pool meant we lived an outdoor existence and tended to develop our own Italian culinary skills. The owner met us and showed us how everything worked and was happy to help make arrangements for babysitters and indeed out Italian Pasta night. We are looking forward to experiencing the villa again in the not too distant future.

A SLICE OF PARADISE!!!!

Let me start by saying that this was our 28th trip to Italy so we are very familiar with the usual "spartan" rentals. This Villa surpassed all expectations - totally private, well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, glasses, etc and furnished well. Sitting high on a hill overlooking the vineyards and Cortona in the background - it just doesn't get any better! I woud highly recommend this property to anyone considering it - it is impeccably done and a true gem!

Terrific house; perfect location

Our experience here was first-rate. We were two couples---it would be fine for three couples or a large family. The house is clean, all normal amenities supplied. Rooms well furnished, beautiful views in all directions. There are plenty of stores within a few miles should you want to cook. The nearest town is about 5 kilometers--Castiglione del Lago is a charming hill town with excellent non-touristy shops and restaurants. We basically chose a different hill-town each day and explored Umbria and a bit of Southern Tuscany. It was the perfect location for Todi, Sienna, Pienza, Gubbio, and many other towns, all within an hour or a bit more.

Nope! Stay somewhere else!

When we first arrived we had a very difficult time finding the house. It’s literally in the middle of nowhere. When we finally did arrive, the listing was not as advertised. We chose to stay in what Alviero said was his nicest villa. I’d hate to see the others. It was a dusty third floor apartment. The pool was run down and looked nothing like the photos. Actually, nothing looked like the photos. He must’ve paid someone good money to take the pictures you see listed here. My family didn’t feel comfortable staying and opted to leave. Alviero claimed not to know English at the time which is interesting because I later spoke with him on the phone and he seemed to know it quite well. We had to hustle last minute to find another place to stay. It also happened to be in a way better location that this house. I asked Alviero for a refund and he told me no and that he asked VRBO to monitor bad reviews to have them removed. Shady! Is that the kind of guy you want to stay with on your vacation? His house is not a good representation of a beautiful place to stay in Italy. There are so many places to book. Beautiful and authentic stay in Umbria!

Perfect! This villa is in a perfect central location for exploring all the wonders of Umbria and the surrounding regions. Just 30 or 40 minutes in any direction and you are in another stunning hill town or village full of shops and restaurants. The villa was beautiful if a bit rustic. Original tile floors and antique furniture complete the aesthetic of the old country. Alviero was a present and helpful host and happy to use Google translate to bridge the gap from Italian to English. We made use of the pool everyday during our stay and mornings on the patio of our apartment with coffee were everything you’d hope Umbria would be.

Beautiful Tuscany

This Villa is beautifully situated in the Tuscan hills. It is a wonderful place for families. As noted, it has a game room, bicycles, swimming pool, and grill for happy family times. The Villa itself is charming, and the beds are comfortable. I especially recommend it for families in warm weather so that all activities provided might be enjoyed.

Dies ist eine unglaubliche Villa mit atemberaubender Aussicht. Wunderbare Lage, tolle Ausstattung und in einem der schönsten Dörfer Italiens gelegen, mit Blick auf den Trasimenischen See. Villa la Fontana kann man nur wärmstens empfehlen, wenn man einen märchenhaften Urlaub sucht. Wir hoffen immer wieder zu besuchen. Einmalige Erfahrung und unvergessliche Erinnerungen.

Elegante Villa von 1800

Ich hatte einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in der Villa La Fontana. Die Villa hat einen unglaublichen Blick auf den Trasimeno See. Ich freue mich schon darauf zurück zu kommen!
