Kayaking from the property was wonderful, but you need to watch the tide charts- you have a 2 hour window before high tide and 2 hours after high tide otherwise it would be very difficult to get in or out! There are rocks you need to climb over to get the kayaks in and out, but that is not uncommon. The only downside is the noise from the road! “Barbara and Les have a beautiful property that they graciously share with renters and pets alike. We enjoyed every part of our stay - from accomodations and location- to wildlife and wonderful conversations! We enjoyed seeing all the animals of the estuary- birds, seals, otters and more!My husband enjoyed fishing, while the pups and I enjoyed the dock! They are well appointed for water sports with many kayaks to choose from as well! This property is a true gem! Any place we can visit and have...

“The Spofford Inn (Inkwell Room) was beautiful and meticulously decorated with beautiful pieces to not only make the space modern and clean but keep the charm of the original building. The hosts were excellent at communicating and accommodating all our needs. It was is walking distance of a few restaurants and yummy ice cream shop. We were not in Bucksport very long but definitely enjoyed our stay.”

“Great place to stay to visit Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. The house was clean and cozy with comfortable beds. Highly recommend if you don't want to stay in the high priced, crazy busy area but still be close to all the sights!!”
