Cottage a Castle Douglas

“Cottage was clean cosy and comfortable. It is about 15 mins drive to castle douglas. Owners live next door so easy to contact with minor issues. We were familiar with local area as visited frequently before.”

“A lovely county castle surrounded by Belted Galloway cattle and sheep. The castle grounds have a fruit trees, herbs and vegetables. Tobias is truly a wonderful gentleman and host. He prepared an amazing breakfast both mornings which consisted of local flavors ( haggis, blood pudding, potato cakes, eggs, bacon and sausage). Tobias gave us a tour of the chapel and grand hall with interesting history. Baron James prepared a formal dinner which was also delicious. We are Maxwell descendants by DNA...
