Island Magic Villas had both positives and challenges. Booking was confusing because the Villas are on the north side, which actually means across the Split by water, not the north side of the main island. I was initially disappointed, but it ended up being nice to be away from the bustle while still being able to go into town when we wanted. However, this does mean relying on the shuttle (which sometimes did not answer the phone) and paying each time to cross. This was difficult for my mother, who recently had hip surgery.
The property itself was beautiful and clean, and the swing chairs by the beach and pool were lovely. Our rooms were huge, which we appreciated as a family of four, and my mother had a very spacious room as well. The men on staff were wonderful—friendly, accommodating, and incredibly helpful. Robbie deserves a special shout‑out. Housekeeping staff were very sweet, although the cleaning could use better training. Unfortunately, the woman in the main office for our first two days was rude, unhelpful, and often seemed annoyed to deal with guests.
The restaurant was average and priced on the higher side, so I recommend eating in town—Magic Cup on the south side was great for breakfast.
Most importantly, there was loud construction right outside our building from 6 AM to 6 PM daily, with no warning from the hotel. It seriously affected our stay. Before booking, make sure the construction next door is completed.
