Love the historic parts of this hotel. We try and stay here when we are in the area. Wondering about the no staff check in. Airbnb has a code at the room door. Might be something to explore

The hotel is very much a classic. The old world furniture was fantastic. My wife’s favorite part was the Jacuzzi bathtub. The sitting room was very nice and very comfortable for four people to have a conversation without noise or a TV i the sitting room.

Location was great- on a walkable strip with many other shops and restaurants. In a good and safe area. Historic nature of the facility was fun and enjoyed the look, including all the decorations and thoughtful knick knacks throughout. Would definitely stay again.

Unique property with history. We had a wonderful stay, with no problems. All rooms are different, ours was basic with jetted tub. Other's I saw were much more spacious, but no major issue with that, for a quick weekend stay. Every employee we had contact with was wonderful. Will stay again.

The quality of the hotel for being historic was beautiful! The city around it was so fitting. For having so many bars it felt safe and quiet.

We love the character in ambience of the entire hotel, and the bar downstairs is a hidden gem and a favorite every time we stay. We also love the great restaurants nearby, and particularly recommend the montage.

Wonderful hotel!! Beautiful, and loved the historic value of it, having many photos, furniture and paintings to replicate when it was built in the mid 1800's, so cool! The location is awesome with many restaurants and shops just outside the hotel doors, with a Riverwalk very close by as well-The staff was so very nice and made our Valentine's Day stay perfect with them, very accommodating and helpful. Our room was very clean and we cannot wait to visit again! Thank you!!

Nice Private Apartment, Not “Hotel”
It was a wonderful stay. But much more like an apartment rental than a hotel. I think I saw a staff member once over 3 nights. Cool old historic building. Don’t expect hotel service. Had to text someone to change the temp, and even then it didn’t really change. That said, I would gladly return for the charm and privacy.

The location is great if you want to walk around and shop at the stores. The hotel was nice and the check-in process was easy. The lobby areas could use some open areas. They have a lot of furniture you have to navigate around.

Wonderful restored hotel. Fun antiques throughout the property. Jazz musicians performed in the lobby in the evening on Saturday. Drink coupon at the bar. Staff friendly and helpful!

This is such a cute property in an awesome area! Staff was amazing, beds were very comfortable, rooms are spacious and bathrooms were great! Nice change to a normal chain hotel!!!

I dont leave reviews but had to of this place... stayed here for one night and it was perfect. So much character from the people to the history in the halls to the little main street plaza out front.. Classically beautiful rooms.

This place really rocks. The decor and feel was authentic and charming. You won’t find many hotels with an actual guy playing beautiful piano music in the lobby for ambiance, except for at the Black Hawk.

Loudest stay I’ve ever had in a hotel. Paper thin walls and could hear the whole conversation of the people staying next to me. Finally got quiets around 3:00 with the people from outside.

Hi Christopher,We are sorry that you did not have a great stay. There are a lot of great things about having a hotel in downtown Cedar Falls including all the shopping, restaurants, and bars that are in walking distance. The one big downside is the noise that also comes from that. That is one thing we can not control especially when it comes to our rooms that are overlooking Main Street. Next time you are in town, call us and we will be sure to put you in a room typically quieter and not overlooking Main Street.

Beautiful historic hotel. Happy hour cocktails were surprisingly affordable, walking distance to downtown shops, entertainment, and dining. Easy parking. The shower was delightful too! Great water pressure, beautiful updated bathroom with historic touches. Wonderful! We will be back!

It was very classy, upscale hotel. The service was friendly. Devin is great asset. I loved the free breakfast at LePetit.

Very old mattress; had no support actually sunk in the middle and i think there were boards under it to keep it somewhat together. The towels were old, damp and had an odor. It was a really bad stay and terrible nights sleep
