“The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but in the middle of the night I found a half inch winged insect crawling up my body in bed. Having killed it, I went into the bathroom, where I found one of its cousins climbing up the wall. Apart from the insect infestation, it might have been a decent stay. No breakfast, just coffee.”

“Cool historic place but for the price would’ve rather just visited. Super small rooms, one bar with five seats, no real on site dining for dinner, and man they better fix that water pressure as you’ll get more wet sweating than standing under that. Prob my last time visiting but cool place”

“The Kress was an amazing surprise for my wife and I during a quick overnighter to meet up with some old childhood friends. I grew up in this area and the downtown district had been forgotten. It was great to see this place back to life. The Kress has done an excellent job restoring this old department store. The rooms are incredible with large common space and bedrooms. I wished we had booked an extra night. ”

“The property is lovely. Despite being told it was heated, the pool was not heated. (I did not find this out - until after checking the temperature with my hand, and asking the concierge/ front desk to turn up the temperature. Only then did they find out by calling maintenance that the pool heater was not working). There was no mention of when it would be fixed -if ever. ”

“Great location. ECHO food was very good. Staff courteous. Cleanliness was excellent. We were in the historic building and the room was very small. The issue we had was the room location inches from the side entrance stairwell. This made it very noisy often at night.”

“the only plus for this hotel was the location next to the beach. Breakfast was a crap shoot never in the 4 morning we stayed there was the breakfast completely ready at 6 am. the path to the beach was life threatening to say the least going down to the beach the steps just stop with no railing to hold to and no one gave us any warning of this hazzard. Our room was clean but the A/C blew right at my head all the time, so I had to sleep at the bottom of the bed with my feet at the head. In the...
