The Lodge Alley Inn™ - Studio

This is a full-service resort. Your check-in procedures will model that of a hotel and your room number will be assigned during check in.

This resort is rich in European heritage and Victorian-styled suites that makes you feel as if you've stepped into the 18th century, grand and utterly majestic!

Approximately 344-585 square feet, this state of the art studio features 1 Queen Bed or 2 Full Beds, and 1 Sofa Bed in the living area including a mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot, bathroom and laundry situated in the common area. Maximum of 4 occupants.

Additional amenities include: cable television and DVD player.


The person checking in must be 21 years of age (or older). With this notion, please prepare a VALID ID and credit card in your name. A $100 Pre-Authorization from any major credit card upon checking in is required. Cash is not accepted. After purchase you will receive an email confirmation showing your name on the reservation as the guest checking in within 14 days of check in date. Please bring a valid form of Picture ID. However, if you would like to change the name of the person checking in after you have provided this information, there will be a $99.00 name change fee. Any damages will be charge upon check-out.

Resort check- in time is 4 p.m. and check-out time is 10 a.m. The nearest airport to The Lodge Alley Inn is Charleston International (CHS) which is 13 miles by car respectively.

Hence, if you have any concerns, our office are open 24 hours to respond to your requests. For here at The Lodge Alley Inn we ensure that your stay is comfortable and well-served to your satisfaction.


*** Parking Policy ***

Off-site valet parking. Cost: $33 per night for Bluegreen Owners; $38 per night for Non-Bluegreen Owners. Handicap parking in the city public parking garage located at 1 Cumberland St., or metered street parking, with a valid sticker or placard is free, however the owner must park their own vehicle. If someone with a handicap placard or sticker wishes to valet, they are subject to the same Owner/Non-Owner daily rates. Owners and guests may self-park in the city public parking garage located at 1 Cumberland St. for $2/hour, max $18/day without moving the vehicle. After midnight or when the vehicle is moved out and back into the garage, the clock resets and $2/hour, max $18/day rate begins. One vehicle per reservation. No trailers, RVs, motorcycles, or oversized vehicles allowed. City public parking phone: (843) 805-3232. The resort is not responsible for any damages to vehicles while in the public parking garage.


*** Pet Policy ***

No pets allowed. Subject to $300 fine. However, pets are permitted in RV parks only.


*** Smoking Policy ***

No smoking inside, including electronic cigarettes. Subject to $300 fine, unless if it's in a designated area.


*** Other notes ***

Two-story (loft) units typically have spiral staircases, and other unit types also have staircases. We cannot guarantee unit placement. Due to the historic nature of the buildings, floor plans and exact sizes will vary among rooms and suites. While The Lodge Alley Inn does not offer daily maid service, complimentary towel exchange is available for guests staying less than 7 days. For guests staying 7 days or more, a complimentary mid-week cleaning service is provided. The Lodge Alley Inn is located in the heart of Downtown Charleston. Due to the urban location of the resort, guests may expect to hear city or street noise from guest rooms. The resort has white noise machines, ear plugs, and box fans available on request to help ease city, street and traffic noise.

We did not stay there. We booked through VRBO a unit of a Blue Green owner(we found out they are not supposed to do this). The owner canceled our res. but neglected to inform VRBO. We showed up to find we had no reservation a very awkward situation! Fortunately, concierge employees Dawn and Kendall were very kind and helpful and located another very nice hotel for us and our stay in Charleston was Plesant.

The unit was beautiful and the location can’t be beat. Walkable to everything in the historic district! The staff was friendly and welcoming. After many visits to Charleston, this was our best stay. Hope to return soon.

Very noisy, not because of the French quarter location, but the restaurant attached to the hotel. Music was tolerable, but the staff dragging furniture across the floor at 4am was ridiculous. The front desk staff was superb, all the employees were so friendly and simply wonderful to be around. We will return, just not during peak season.

We had a studio on the 3rd flood. It was the perfect size with a queen bed and a separate living area with a couch and fireplace. The room was clean and quiet with no street noise. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. The best part was the location. Quick walk to the market, the waterfront and French Quarter. We would definitely stay here again.

Loved our first trip to Charleston

My husband and I are 70 years old and this was our first trip to Charleston. The address was easy to find and valet parking was an extra bonus. Our room was very pretty and comfortable with a great view of the street. I realize this is a time share location so maybe I should have known the pictures on the listing aren’t necessarily the room you get. The pictures showed 2 beds (full or queen) but we got 1 queen. It wasn’t a big deal, we just weren’t expecting that. The location was fantastic with many restaurants within sight of the inn. Strongly recommend Fleet Landing for lunch/dinner and Ruby Sunshine for breakfast. Everyone we had contact with on our were very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely like to stay here again.

Downtown Gem

We had a function just around the corner from our hotel so we were able to walk everywhere. Parked our car and left it until we departed. The Market & carriage tour area, both walkable. Charleston has lots to offer for sure and Alley Lodge was right in the heart of all of it.

Amazing location

We just checked out of a two night stay here. First, it is located right in the heart of the French Quarter of Charleston. You are mere steps from virtually everything. We were about a block or so from the Charleston City Market. We were surrounded by an array of restaurants and shops. Parking is about 50 per night, which I find routine for larger cities. We were walking distance to everything we did, including arranged tours. So if you are not on a driving tour and coming to visit only Charleston, you could absolutely just take a taxi or Uber to/from the airport and not miss having a car at all. The room was large, with a separate living room from the bedroom. There was a coffee nook, with a microwave, small fridge with freezer, and some basic dishes/cups/glasses. The bathroom had a sink and vanity separated from the area that housed both the toilet and shower. The water pressure was decent. There was a pretty courtyard area and a parlor off the lobby where coffee was served in the morning. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would 100% stay here again.

Christmas in Charleston

Have been wanting to get to Charleston for awhile and Christmas seemed to be a great time to go. Our room met all our expectations! Big enough to move around and loved the gas fireplace. We did get some street noise, but any music playing was done by 11:00pm. Everybody was very friendly! This location is close to a wide assortment of restaurants and able to walk to majority of Charleston destinations. Will keep this place in first place for next visit to Charleston.

Anniversary Get away

The unit was in great condition. Recently renovated. It is a historic building so there were very skeaky floors. The only thing we didn’t agree with is there was no mention that the unit was a time share.

Fantastic location

Loved the location of this place! We were told not to book a rental car when visiting downtown Charleston - that was a good suggestion. We took an Uber from the airport and walked or hopped on the free shuttle to get around downtown. Our room was spacious enough for me and my husband. When he slept in, I was able to hang out in the living room. We both thought the beds and bedding were extremely comfortable. Our room was not in a preferred location of the building. Our balcony looked straight out at humming mechanical units. So we could only see the courtyard off to the side. We didn't mind since we didn't spend much time on the balcony. Furthermore, in the evenings we could also hear music coming from a nearby restaurant. We did expect some pressure to attend a time share presentation - no one mentioned anything like that to us. Finally, we were impressed by the friendliness of the staff - we were greeted every time we went into or out of the building.

Location and comfort!

We left the car in a very nearby garage and walked everywhere for 3 days. Very clean and comfy, friendly reception folks. Reasonable price compared to area hotels. Would stay again.
