It was strange during this current situation. Very quiet. The only issue I had was that the water was cold. It was very unpleasant getting a shower in cold water. I would like to stay again in more ‘normal’ circumstances.

I was hoping to give this hotel a really good review; so I will start with the positives. Sian on Reception was lovely; she could not have been more helpful or friendly. Cheadle House is massive and the rooms are really spacious as is the bed. I liked the location as it is nice and close to Manchester Airport. Unfortunately there were problems and they have not been addressed. Firstly, my partner asked for a 05:45 wake-up call as he had an early flight. No call was received and no apology either. The night staff did not even log the wake-up call. Secondly, at about 6am I heard running water in the room. I thought the shower had been left on; but when I checked I noticed water pouring through the ceiling (by the window) onto my suitcase. Fortunately, I had closed the suitcase lid otherwise all my clothes and electrical items would have been ruined. I moved the case and took a video of the water pouring in from the ceiling. There was a heavy rainstorm outside at the time. I had noticed water damage to the ceiling when we checked into the room, but had assumed it was historic damage and had been resolved; obviously not the case. Also the washbasin ran extremely slowly to empty. I showed the video to Andrew on Reception and he asked me to email this video to the Operations Manager; this I did with a covering email on 10 March 2020 at 16:16. The Operations Manager has not had the good manners to reply to my very valid complaints. This all happened in Room 42.

We appreciate all feedback as a tool to help us continue to improve our facilities and our guest experience and customer service. I am disappointed to hear about your dissatisfaction with regards to some elements of your recent stay at Cheadle House. I am pleased that the team looked after you so well, especially Sian - your kind comments have been passed on. I am also pleased to hear that you found the bedroom to be spacious, the bed comfy and the location great for your requirements. I am sorry to hear that you did not receive the 05:45 wake-up call. I have raised this with the Nights team who informed me that this was a genuine human error and oversight however I appreciate this is of little consolation and the outcome could have been much more severe. They would like to be associated with my sincerest apologies. In relation to the leak into bedroom 42 I have raised this with my Maintenance Manager; Gyorgy who has put this room off until necessary maintenance works are carried out to fix the problem. To date I cannot confirm the reason for the leak until further thorough investigations have taken place. It would be greatly appreciated if you could resend the video and covering note to myself. Can I please ask you check the email address to which you sent the email as I have not received an email directly from yourself. I would of course have duly replied if I had. We had the twin room, there are plenty of storage for luggage. The bathroom with a bath and shower. Would be better if it's a curtain screen and not a shower curtain. Breakfast was rather basic but adequate for us. The hotel is opposite David Lloyd and we were informed that we can get free entrance upon showing our hotel pass, which is good to know.

Staff were excellent. Foyer looks really great but shame the rooms were a little plain......lacking character. We arrived Friday night (around 19:30). Restaurant was closed. Not sure if it’s advertised but we were told we could use gym facilities at nearby David Lloyd .....unfortunately we hadn’t taken any gym stuff.

I am delighted that you enjoyed he décor and ambiance of the main lobby/reception area. details with regards to the offsite leisure facilities are listed on our homepage so I am sorry that you were unaware of this prior to your arrival but I do hope that you visit us again I the near future and are able to take advantage of the offsite leisure club, with facilities including a fully-equipped gym, heated indoor and outdoor pools, Jacuzzis, steam and sauna rooms.

Restaurant closed
We arrived intending to eat in the hotel and go to bed early as we were flying out early next morning. Unfortunately the hotel restaurant was closed for a party. Everything else was good, but this spoiled the overall stay as the local restaurants were too "chain"y.

Hi, Thank you for your 8/10 star review. I am sorry that you were unable to eat in the restaurant due to a private function. Cheadle House is a relatively small hotel with only 1 restaurant and bar and therefore when this is privately booked we don't have alternative facilities to offer. Be rest assured the last thing as a hotelier I want is to refuse our guests these services, but we are limited on such occasions. There are lots of great restaurants in the immediate area including Table Table and TGI Fridays literally on our doorstep, alternatively there is a vast array of restaurant and bars in Cheadle Village and the surrounding area. The team at Cheadle House would've happily recommend and made reservations for you.

We arrived late, about half past ten at night and left the following morning at 6.45, so experienced the room only - no meals or drinks. We did like what we saw however, and would stay again. The male staff member at the desk when we arrived was polite and helpful, but in the morning, cameleon-like, that same staff member was, inexplicably, somewhat offhand when we left.

Good hotel just outside Manchester
Comfortable hotel just outside Manchester. Good service and nice spacious room allocated. Great if you like spotting aircraft on approach, noise quite unobtrusive. Safe quiet area with good parking. This was a return visit, will use again.

Very convenient for Manchester airport. It’s on an industrial estate, we found it difficult to find as there were no sings for the actual hotel! I would definitely stay there again if I was using the airport.

Good position and comfortable enough for one night stay. Close to the motorway, airport and a John Lewis 5-10 min walk away. We didn’t eat at the hotel so cannot comment on it.

Absolutely superb hotel! The staff were warm and welcoming and very helpful! My room was very spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable! I ate evening dinner in the restaurant and found the food to be tasty and very well made. I had a morning flight to the US and the hotel reception arranged a taxi to take me to the airport, which I greatly appreciated as I didn’t know the area. I highly recommend Cheadle House!

Felt more like a mental institution. Nothing classy about this venue and under the flight path so don’t open the windows. Offered two rooms one we where told was a long,long walk or the disabled room. A disabled person would have found the bathroom a challenge and the area around the bed a squeeze. Breakfast was extra £12 50. Wouldn’t stay again.

Although property obviously repainted it still looked tired. Some corridor carpets were stained. The wood around the bed was rather nice but unfinished in areas. My door frame looked as if police had forced it open and still had broken wood on the frame. Security chain didn’t work. If there was a fire I couldn’t get out of the storm window as it was jammed.it. The bed was fine, sheets clean. No bath at or face cloths. Waiters pleasant. My tomato soup tasted right out or a tin. However, for the price pretty good value!

Excellent service and a comfy bed
All of the staff members we dealt with were obliging and friendly. The bed was firm and. very comfy. We had a good meal in the restaurant quiet night. Exactly what we needed. For a reasonable price we parked our car in the car park for two weeks.

Smart, clean and tidy hotel. Rooms were a little on the dated side, tiles on the bathroom floor were cracked and it looked like it was in need of a refurbishment, if I’m being honest. That said the staff were welcoming and friendly, the room was spotlessly clean and tidy, so no complaints from that point of view.

Late arrival and early departure
I arrived very late and was leaving early due to flight cancellation. Night reception could not have been more helpful. There was a problem with the booking but got it resolved and let me go to bed as soon as possible.

Service would have been poor had the evening service not been good. The place looks and feels tired, the bed was lumpy and uncomfortable, room not great layout. Food (evening and breakfast) was some of the worst I've had in a long time. Tasteless (evening) and cold (breakfast crumpets). Overall a disappointing experience from a hotel group that is normally synonymous with a more pleasant experience.

Good afternoon, We pride ourselves on the comfort of our beds and pillows to which our guests normally give great praise. I am also sincerely disappointed to hear your poor opinion on the food offered, again we normally receive great comments regards to the food, especially the breakfast! Very poor
Really slow check in with information (and card) having to be given four times. Don’t seem to know which cards they take! Given two disabled access rooms (not sure why) in which the kettle didn’t work in one and the toilet and basin didn’t operate properly in the other. Breakfast was truly awful, with parts completely inedible.

Hello James, Thank you for your review. Since receiving your review I have looked into your reservation and see that you had 2 rooms booked; 001 & 002. I am unsure which room you are referring too with regards to kettle not working and the toilet basin but I have since checked both rooms with the Housekeeping Manager and Maintenance Manager and found both items you've mentioned in both rooms to be in full functioning order. I do wish that these items were raised during your stay with us when we had the opportunity to possibly move your rooms etc. I am sorry to hear that your check-in process was slow, we are excited to have recruited new members of staff to our Reception team however during this time, whilst they are in their early stages, I am sorry to hear that you had a longer wait that normal. I have spoken to the Restaurant Manager and he confirmed he was not made aware of any problems with your breakfast. We usually receive such high praise for our food offerings, especially breakfast, so this is terribly disappointing to hear. Please do contact me directly should you wish to return to Cheadle House as I would be happy to offer a preferential rate on a return stay to showcase our usual high standards of hospitality.
