The Barndominium Loft — Your Cozy Hideaway Near Oak Mountain

Escape to this charming loft in an upscale equestrian neighborhood—where rustic barn vibes meet modern comfort. Just minutes from Oak Mountain State Park, shopping, and dining, this unique retreat is the perfect mix of cozy and convenient.

Upstairs, unwind in the open-concept studio space with a queen bed, plush loveseat, and a large smart TV with YouTube TV—ideal for movie nights or lazy mornings. Stay connected with fast Wi-Fi and start your day with a fresh cup from the Keurig at your private coffee station.

The well-stocked kitchenette includes a full-size fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster oven, plug-in cooktop, sink, dishes, and silverware—everything you need for easy meals or snacks after a day of adventure.

Traveling with kids or extra guests? The entry-level bunk area features a twin-over-full bunk bed that comfortably sleeps up to three.

Please note: this loft is accessed by exterior stairs and includes interior stairs to the main living area. It may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues.

Pet lovers are welcome! Bring up to 2 well-behaved dogs for a $50 fee. Cats are considered with prior approval. Unpaid pet stays may incur a fee of up to $250 plus damages.

We were there in the middle of summertime and the AC just couldn’t keep it cool during the heat of day and my kids downstairs were complaining about how hot it was downstairs and it never really got cool until morning time with AC running full time, also bunk beds need to be upgraded they squeak very loud with the slightest movement, the place was clean and would probably be fine in the spring or fall but I wouldn’t use it during the summer or winter

Nice little spot

We were traveling with two kids and the bunkbed in an open room situation didn't work well for us. Our kids need a room with a door but that's on us, not the house. One thing that does need to be addressed is the insane squeakiness of the metal bunk bed with each slight move of the person sleeping in it. It kept us all up a while before my kids fell asleep and got still. I walked the neighborhood early in the morning and felt safe.

Clean and quiet

We are a family of 5 with kids from 6yo- 12. In the morning we are not quiet. When we stay in a hotel I have to shush my kids about 100 time so we don’t disturb the hotel rooms beside and below us. This guest house was far enough away from everything else that we just got to have fun in the morning and be our loud selves. The it was very clean and seemingly pretty new. We were able to walk down to the little pond in the backyard as seen on the description. It was a nice little retreat for a few minutes. I would recommend this guest house to anyone.

Promises kept!

Clean, comfortable, private, peaceful, serene, scenic--all are adjectives applicable to this attractive property. My husband and I have spent many nights in upscale hotels, but there are very few amenities more important than peace and quiet, which were in abundance here!

Great stay!!

Had a few minor issues during our stay and the property owners were always quick to help. Property was very clean and in a very safe area of town. Has all amenities you may need and all check in instructions are very thorough to avoid any problems. Overall great time!

Perfect hideaway just outside town

We loved our time in the Bardominium. The host couldn't have been nicer and was in great communication with us. Everything we needed was there and the place was clean and comfortable. We loved being able to sit out on the balcony and see the chickens in the morning as we drank our morning coffee. Would definitely stay again next time we are in Chelsea!

Lovely Stay!

This barndo was exactly what we were looking for! A perfect secluded place while still within driving distance to many shops and restaurants. We especially loved drinking our morning coffee on the balcony and watching the chickens. We are looking forward to our next stay here.

The place was very nice and clean! The owners were very nice and friendly. The neighborhood was very quiet and more of a rural setting. But only a few minutes from town. If we ever come back to the area I would definitely stay here again!
