“I stayed in a shared room with 20 beds but only like 5 other people actually there. It was pretty chill, great location and access to lots of restaurants and downtown Auckland right there. Lots of lockers including under my bottom bunk, just used my own lock and had no issues with it. Showers nice and hot, very clean space overall. Great big kitchen and the staff was awesome. Would stay here or another haka lodge again for sure!”

“Lovely and helpful staff, comfortable beds. Felt surprisingly private. The shared spaces were spacious, comfortable and lovely. They have a “quiet” room which was highly appreciated. It felt new, fresh and cozy. The kitchen could get pretty messy but the staff tried their best to keep it clean. I felt like I got a lot of value for the money.”

“Everything ok except bunk beds. If you sleep upper bed than you can experience problems- whole bed is shaking. I saw someone felt down while stepping down. It deserved for maintenance work or exchange. The rest was good. Perfect location. Nice staff.”

“The most disappointing thing about this place was the bathroom facilities. There was mould everywhere in the shower - up the walls, on the ceiling. The shower curtain looked liked it hadn't been changed in decades...it was scary to touch. The place also smelled of cigarettes....not very pleasant. While it is a hostel, I have certainly stayed in better hostels both in Auckland and major cities around the world. By far the worst hostel I have stayed in.”

“Awful. No bath mat, soap, bin, glass/cup. Filthy lockers, poop in toilet. Holes in walls, filthy walls. Tv ripped off wall. One neighbour making disgusting noises, clearly very ill. Another screaming super offensive abuse. Nearly called police. Extremely upset. Felt very unsafe.”

“We booked this property because it was a handy location, unfortunately we had also booked it because it said we could have 3 separate beds and because I was booking it for 3 students that didn't really know each other it was appropriate they have their own beds. I have just been told they were only provided with a double and single bed. This has put me in a rather awkward position. They were not confident to ask for this to be changed.”

“False advertising. Rude staff. Beds with one small blanket in winter. Old building and freezing cold-no insulation. Bathroom tap didn't turn on. Booked for 3 nights, thinking it had a private bathroom as advertised. Upon check in found out no room had private bathroom. All shared. Refused to refund me any money. Even after showing them the advertisement online. Didn't stay and booked elsewhere. Only parking available is pay and display down the road that is more expensive than the room itself. ”

“Stayed for just a little over a week. Great location. Close to the motorway, walking distance to shops in the city. Rooms were tidy and kitchen had everything we needed. Great to have our own laundry appliances. Great to have parking but the extra cost for it was a surprise. Wifi was a bit touch and go. Didn't always work well. We were a family of 5 so needed more stable wifi. ”
