The welcome was warm and friendly and in fact I think the friendliness of the staff is my standout reason to stay. “Very competitive price for a comfortable room. Accommodation( total of 4 rooms) was adjacent to and accessed via the village pub , but we did not hear a thing ! Nice outdoor space for relaxing or dining/ drinking. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we would definitely stay here again. Only considerations are staircase up to accommodation and breakfast is not served in the pub. ”

“Amazingly large and typically quaint old coaching inn under new and energetic management. We stayed because of proximity to Althorp House. Stand out feature is the food at typical pub prices but far from typical. It was superb and makes it a destination in itself. Such a pleasant change to eat real home cooking and not some chilled and reheated offering. Full English breakfast included in room rate and also superb. ”

Dinner was ok, very little gluten free options on the childrens menu but the kitchen tried their best to accommodate a 10 year old. Our room was very spacious, only let down was the shower - this was broken, so trying to get 4 people bathed was a pain. ”
