“We loved this house, so much character. The owner was so sweet and helpful. We cooked and ate our meals here (you can even do a grocery pickup at the Kroger which is not far away). We loved listening to the river, and truly just enjoyed our stay. We would definitely come back!”

We enjoyed a delicious steak dinner via the grill out on the deck and even hopped in the hot tub even though it was under 40 outside! Our 9 year old loved having her own space in the loft above the bathroom and kitchen, and we were impressed how efficient we were able to prepare our meals with the well thought out minimalist kitchen. “Overall stay was great failed to mention there is no heat in main part of the house only in the bedrooms the sulfur in the water is really bad I turned the water on in the bathroom and could smell it throughout the entire house I felt like i was walking around smelling like a rotten egg from the sulfur smell of the water they did however provide bottled water for drinking and cooking and considering everything is far from property I feel ice trays would be great to have there as well ”

“We had a really good stay at this property. It’s located in the small town of Shady Spring, which was quiet and peaceful, but still a great location overall. The house is about 10 minutes north of Winterplace Ski Resort, which made it perfect for our ski trip, and about 15 minutes south of Beckley where you can find everything you need—restaurants, groceries, and shopping.The host was great and answered all of our questions quickly, which made the stay smooth and stress-free. “This little house was quite roomy and cozy. The host provided check-in and WiFi information on request only, but responded quickly to all our questions. WiFi was spotty, which probably isn't unusual this deep in the countryside. The washer was broken when we got there. The kitchen cupboards were full, yet I couldn't find a matching lid for the big pot, nor was there a ladle.
