Best Location for Vacation

This is our second time staying at Brucie's. The house is so great. So much room for everyone to spread out. Love the kitchen and dining for enjoying our home cooked meals each evening. The walk to the beach is short and sweet with the boardwalk at the end of the road. We really like working with the management, New Waves Vacation Rentals. Easy check in process and excellent communication. Look forward to our next adventure!

Fun in the Sun

Its a little father from the beach than my old self liked to walk, so we drove down to the end of the boardwalk and walked in from there. There were some things that could have used more information (a sound system in the house we had no idea how to use, an outdoor shower we in back of the house we didn't find until the 3rd day, a VERY finicky elevator), the complete lack of any seating on the bedroom floor (1-2 chairs would be nice), and no seating on the master suite balcony. All in all, though, once we got used to the place, it was a great stay.

Beach break

Easy access to the beach for long walks. Nice views of the sunsets from the third floor balconies. Nice coffee maker🤗 and a cold fridge! It was a short stay and overall a very good experience. However we could not locate a broom. If we were staying longer finding the broom would have become a priority - it is a beach property. Would definitely recommend the stay for families. Good space to spread out and still feel connected.

Everything was very nice an comfortable. The issues we had was with the operation of the elevator and having no control over the AC. The elevator has a switch issue that is a little annoying and the AC kept us very cold and we had to turn it off occasionally to warm up. We found out that we just needed to call the management office to control the temperature. We had an initial odor when first arriving but it seemed to go away as the AC was started up and ran for a while, there was a sink in the master bathroom that was slow draining. We did have a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay at the rental.

Nice stay close too the action

Nice house with plenty of space and equipped with a great kitchen. If you like to cook and consider yourself a foodie you will enjoy two kitchens “ one in the 3rd floor and one in the rooftop” and all the cookware you need to prep , cook and create great meals for the family. This home also provides a nice view of the backside of the island. Views of the airport and skydivers nonstop as well as a marina view. Good place to escape and only about a mile away from the beach.

Great beach house and location

The house is accurate to the listing and very clean! Beds were comfortable and basics for cooking in the kitchen were available. Plenty of room for our group to hang out both inside and outside, and it was a short walk to the beach. Would stay again!

Bruce's Bungalow review: 5 stars

We very much enjoyed our stay at Port Aransas at the Bruce's Bungalow property. The house is very clean and comfortable, with views of the Gulf of Mexico and the music of the waves at night. It is very conveniently located, just outside the bustle of Port Aransas and with no very near neighbors, with easy acess to the beach, but very close to Port Aransas and Corpus Christi attractions and services. Most important to us was it's proximity to the National Seashore on North Padre Island and to the wonderful Aransas National Wildlife Refuge. New Wave, the management company, was very easy to reach for any questions and advice. We highly recommend this site.

Lovely property!

We had a wonderful time staying in this beautiful house. The location is great, away from busy Port A but close enough. Just hanging out in the house with lightening fast Wi-Fi was very enjoyable.

Perfect Stay

I can’t say enough about this property. I am always nervous that the photos and description are really not accurate. This house was exactly as it is advertised. The home was beautiful, clean and had all the extras you need for your stay. We spent Christmas week there and had a couple of cold days that caused us to stay inside. There were plenty of puzzles and games to keep us busy. The kitchen is very well stocked and we cooked all but one meal at the house. We rented a golf cart and found it a very easy trip back and forth to the beach. I do recommend a cart if you have small children, elderly family or a lot of beach stuff. It is a short hike to get to the sand. Once you are at the beach, it is like having a private beach! The public access on either side of the boardwalk is about a half mile away. We saw very little traffic where we were but further down, the beach was crowded. It was very nice. The elevator in the house was a huge plus but we really only needed it to do laundry. They are building more homes on the street but they did not interfere with the view. I would recommend a broom and mop be available. We had two dogs and I would have swept before leaving. I also want to note that most vacation homes require you start the laundry, strip beds and do an almost full house clean when you check out. It seems unfair when you are charged a cleaning fee. This property asked the minimum. Take out your trash and start the dishwasher. We really enjoyed everything about our stay. Thank you Brucie’s Bungalow and New Wave Rentals!

Peaceful and Relaxing

Very nice place, exactly as advertised…not many homes in immediate area, so surprisingly quiet and peaceful. Was nice having access to the boat garage for storage of miscellaneous beach “stuff”. Elevator operation is a bit wonky, but worked good once we figured out what was going on. Elevator outer door interlocks could use some attention…2nd floor in particular doesn’t always work without manual intervention. No big deal really, just keeps you from being able to call the cab to another floor. Would definitely stay here again.

Much needed vacation

Our stay was wonderful the house was great. The only recommendation I have would be to have extra linens available for guests such as an extra blanket for the bed or linens for the roll a way beds.

Could of been a 5 star

Everything was great. Cleaners had to return on day two to clean again. Showers and tile floors where not cleaned. Normal wear and tear but nothing out of the ordinary. Wish I could of giving it a 5 but that is perfection and this unit was not perfect but darn near it. We will stay again and recommend to others

Nice house for a big group, but needs some attention to detail

We stayed here as a party of 3 families, each with young children (ranging 6 months- 13 years). The house was spacious and offered pull out cots for the kids. The ocean view was somewhat lacking as the home is pretty far away from the beach, but beach access was quite easy. We encountered a few technical concerns: the elevator wasn’t working (which would have been handy given all the junk brought for the kids), and the ice maker was lacking. The kitchen had a nice supply of cookware, but absolutely no seasoning, oil, salt, pepper, etc, or any other cooking basics you come to expect with VRBO listings. Also, the floors were very dirty with sand and dust, so everyone’s feet were black all weekend. If staying here with babies, would highly recommend bringing additional gates for the top of the stairs. Also, the 2nd floor hallway bathroom’s tub has a broken drain plug, so we resorted to wedging a bar of soap under it to keep it open…kinda ghetto. Lastly, we were given one single coffee filter at arrival, which was comical, if not irritating given that the listing specifically listed providing these. Overall it’s a typical island house with potential to be a great rental, but will need much more attention to detail if its going to achieve this.

Fun time

We enjoyed our stay at this property. There were 3 flights of stairs to get a good workout, but the elevator was nice to have. Clean and comfortable with lots of room to enjoy inside and outside.
