Adorable private bungalow on quiet horse and hay farm near Mesa Verde

Just 4 miles north of Cortez near Hwy 491, this quiet ranch retreat offers a fully furnished equine themed guest apartment with generous parking. One queen bed and a full-sized futon can sleep up to 4 comfortably. Make lavish meals in the full kitchen or check out several fantastic restaurants in town. Enjoy panoramic views of Sleeping Ute Mountain and Mesa Verde. Keep an eye out for bald and golden eagles. Don’t be surprised if the horses wander by to greet you! Well-behaved dogs are welcome for a small fee. We offer simple, zero contact check-in so all you need to do is arrive and relax! Our driveway is circular and can easily accommodate large trailers and moving vans.

The guest quarters consists of a 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment with a complete kitchen that sits adjacent to our shop. There is a fold out full-sized futon in the living room to accommodate additional guests with a flat screen TV and excellent WiFi. Your dog is allowed to have free time outside as long as he/she is supervised and doesn’t bother the livestock. Please do not leave your pet unattended inside the apartment or allow him/her on the furniture as other guests may have allergy issues.

Short-term horse boarding and grass hay is available with a 100’ x 200’ outdoor riding arena. We also have 30 amp RV hookups and trailer parking. Ask us for details.

We live onsite in a separate residence and are always available by text or phone calls. We're happy to help with any questions or concerns but like to give guests their space. If you need advice on local mountain bike/hiking trails or where to play pickleball in town, just ask!

VRBO in Cortez
A wonderful stay! Quiet, clean and a very friendly host. Just far enough out of Cortez to relax and get away from the traffic and noise. Horse Farm Dream Indeed!
My husband, two kids, and I LOVED our ranch stay! From the Mountain Views to the western decor to the pleasant cooling and sweet town of Cortez, we couldn’t be happier. The owners were helpful and sweet. We loved being inspired by their adventures on their blog! We set the kids up on blow up mattresses in the living room and we slept in the room.

Peace and comfort in the country!
Very pleasant communication with the owners. Check-in couldn't have been easier (I just walked in.) The apartment was clean, quiet and comfortable with quick access to town. I'm thrilled to have found it and hope to stay here again.

A nice get away.
We stayed here on our way home from vacation. This was a beautiful comfortable home away from home. We can't wait to come back and stay longer. The host were very hospitable. Friendly horses in the evening and Taco came said good morning. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Perfectly Quiet and Charming!
My friend and I stayed one night as we passed through the area. This is a great location for multiple reasons: quiet, peaceful, pretty, great views, clean, spacious, and comfortable. The hosts are friendly and give you your space. The horses are lovely to watch as the sun sets and are there to welcome you to the new day in the morning. I appreciated the welcoming gifts too! Great for dogs, couples, and solo travelers for sure. I would happily stay again.
