  • Trainspotting non deve essere una fantasia. Qui al Porter’s Lodge puoi letteralmente sederti vicino ai binari e rilassarti .. Piano terra: soggiorno. Cucina con zona colazione. Bagno con doccia e servizi igienici. Primo piano: 1 camera doppia (può essere 6ft matrimoniale). Woodburner in salotto (combustibile iniziale incluso). Riscaldatori elettrici inclusi. CD. Fornello elettrico. Lavasciuga. Frigo freezer. Salottino e mobili. Parcheggio (1 auto) .. Una vera gemma per gli appassionati di ferrovie, questa stazione ferroviaria vittoriana è composta dalla Station House (ref HW7742) (ex casa del capostazione) e dalla Porter's Lodge (ref HW7806), in un tranquillo villaggio. Si siedono proprio accanto alla ferrovia a vapore Heritage di Llangollen, che si snoda attraverso il delizioso scenario della valle del Dee tra Llangollen e Corwen. Station House gode di un grazioso giardino cottage ed è decorato con un tema natalizio durante le festività. Porter’s Lodge ha una zona salotto adiacente alla piattaforma della stazione deliziosamente restaurata, dove puoi sederti con un bicchiere di vino e guardare i treni che passano. Questa è una posizione perfetta per esplorare la zona circostante, con ottime passeggiate, birdwatching e una miriade di attività all'aperto nelle vicinanze. Llangollen, sede dell'Eisteddfod musicale internazionale, ha incantevoli passeggiate lungo il canale e sull'acquedotto di Pontcysyllte. Erddig e Chirk Castle (NT) si trovano nelle vicinanze e Snowdonia National Park è facilmente raggiungibile. Negozio 3 miglia, pub e ristorante 0. 5 miglia .. Wonderful few days.

Wonderful few days. Just delightful to sit outside and watch the trains go by. Very clean and tidy. Very comfortable furnishings. Our only problem was it's a bit difficult to get into the bed when it is linked as a double because of the angle of the roof. Lots to do in the area but just great sitting watching trains. Highly recommended (but have the beds as two singles). Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Very clean and comfortable.

Very clean and comfortable. Everything thought of even down to washing machine pegs iron and ironing board. The week we went it was steam trains all week. One every hour. Bonus of an extra train on the Sunday evening bringing passengers to a firework display which was in the opposite field so I got to watch it from the comfort of the velux bedroom window.. Not only did I comment in the visitors book but I also left the caretaker/cleaner a thank you card.

We had a great holiday! Being next to the station was ideal as we love trains. The cottage is smart, clean and well provided with equipment. Some crockery low but as only 2 people no problem. Loved the pictures! Lounge could do with another window but again no problem as only used in evenings. Love the area and there is plenty to see and do. Good places to eat and people friendly and helpful.

We had a wonderful week in the porters lodge.

We had a wonderful week in the porters lodge. Watching the weekend steam trains puffing into the station, as we had a coffee in the garden, on the station platform, was just wonderful. We had a great evening on the ale train and the scenery is just wonderful. We were blessed with snowfall half way through the week and the mountains topped in snow, were just so very beautiful. Lovely cottage, so comfy and homely, especially with the log burner. I would so recommend this property as a wonderful, quirky holiday and we will return in the future.

Really well appointed cottage - everything you could need is supplied from kitchen supplies to a selection of DVDs to loads of plugs! The only slight issue was that the main kitchen light didn't work so it was a little dark in there and we had to move a couple of lamps around to see to eat at the table in the evening. But only a minor point, otherwise comfy and clean with a brilliant location right next to the train line. Recommended!

The staycation I've had in a very long time. The sensory is unbelievable and just beautiful. The cottage it's self is homely and spacious. Lots to do in the surrounding areas walks views etc. I am and would definitely go back and stay at porter's lodge.
