“We loved our visit to Lough Bawn and the beautiful grounds surrounding. We thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with owner Verity and the breakfast was delicious. We recommend this to anyone considering a peaceful visit in the area. We wish we could have stayed longer. ”

“The guesthouse is nice enough but the staff were standoffish to begin with. There was an unexpected extra charge for my dog to stay. They had their large dogs roaming freely, which was intimidating to nervous dogs on leads. The shower in our room was old and complicated to use. I forgot an expensive orthopaedic pillow at the guesthouse and requested it to be sent to me. The owner assured me he had it, charged me €35 and sent an old battered cushion with no cover at a cost of €9. Overall the stay...

“I stayed at Preston House last week. Hotels.com didn't send me the details on email as was outlined in the booking. I contacted the owner who was extremely helpful and gave me an upgrade and sent on all the details straight away. The house itself is beautiful and my room was spacious and comfortable and a really lovely place to stay. The owner checked in with me to make sure I got checked in ok and again the following day to make sure I had no problems with my stay. I work in Laois multiple...

“Arrived on the 1st day of opening. Staff very helpful and welcoming us with a glass of bubbles which was a lovely touch. Good breakfast options and lovely decor. Rooms a little smaller than in photos but very comfortable, besutifully decorated and great kitchette facilites.Loved the coffee machine.
Hotel eas in a quiter street but central and an easy walk into the centre.Would recommend.”
