“We spent 2 nights at the Volunteer Inn in September in a room with shared bathroom. Everything was very clean and comfortable and the staff were all great. The breakfast was good and the pub downstairs is a good spot for a drink. Our room faces the road but was very quiet and did not get any noise from the pub. Given the cost of staying in Chipping Campden, we felt the rate was very reasonable.”

“The hotel is located in the village of Blockley, one of our favourite villages in the Cotswolds, as it is completely untouristy and truly charming. It is also very close to other villages, all easily reachable within 10–15 minutes by car. The hotel rooms are a bit dated, but the staff were extremely kind and even upgraded our room, giving us a very lovely and comfortable accommodation. Breakfast, ordered from the menu, was excellent.
