“Everything was great about the hotel and the staff, but the rooms could use updating.”

“Despite the hotel being almost empty, we were given a room on the 2nd floor farthest from the lobby despite requesting to be moved. A $35 fee for a 7lb tiny dog is ridiculous. Room had a garbage pail full from previous guest, very little toilet paper, TV remote had no batteries and still didn’t work. Electrical outlet wasn’t working in bathroom area. Not a pleasant stay. ”

“Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Loved the history and story of the place. Enjoyed drinks at the bar and brunch. Appreciated arriving early and getting in 45 minutes prior to check in time. ”

“The hotel is in a great location, close to the expressway and dining and shopping options. Very clean, bright, and well-maintained hotel. Would definitely stay there again.”

“I am really surprised this hotel ranked so high on Expedia at an 8. When we arrived, I immediately noticed that people lived at this hotel which isn't a great sign. There were lots of pets. The hallways and stairways were dirty, and reeked of smoke. Despite the conditions of the hotel, the staff were super friendly. The room was decent with clean sheets, and the smell of cigarette smoke did not extend to the room.”

“Worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Cracks in the walls, black mold, bugs, spiders... just gross! Filthy. Worker in the office was behind a glass which did not make me feel safe. The entire atmosphere screamed Crack house. Expedia charged me $20 more than what was on the receipt. Receipt showed a different card number as well. Not sure how this rated at 8/10 stars. This place should be condemned. ”

“The room was nice and quiet and clean. The pool was unfortunately still closed for the season, but the grounds were decent. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Close to a lot in Richmond. ”
