“This place is better than described. It’s cozy and has anything you need for a getaway besides shower supplies. Close to the Mammoth Cave National Park: take the ferry route, is just 20 minutes. We had the chance to see the fireflies just from the deck. It’s lake access, and also this place has copious water gears, including kayaks. Corlynn and Joe are wonderful people, very helpful.”

“The property was very nice and clean. I was a little misled with location information. We were looking for something close to mammoth cave and the listing stated 16 minute drive, we couldn’t find that route and it was more like 45 minutes. Maybe if we took the green river ferry but it was only open from 8-6.”

“This house is in a very peaceful area. House was clean and comfortable. Loved the sunroom. Due to high water levels it was difficult to use the dock. Lost power, but it was restored quickly. Kitchen is nice and well-stocked. Pans are in rough shape. You definitely need to bring food to cook as there is no place close to eat out or get groceries. We enjoyed Nolin Lake State Park and Mammoth Cave State Park. Overall a nice stay.”

“Cute little house with great things for kids inside. We didn’t stay long and we were there for Mammoth Cave and loved staying at the house. It is in the middle of nowhere so eating out is very limited and grocery stores are far from the location. The host was great about informing us about all of this beforehand so we could prepare and was great about giving us ideas of things to do in the area. We were fortunate that the Green River ferry was up and running so getting to Mammoth Cave was not...

“The Redbird Hideaway is a beautiful place to unwind with family. We drank out coffee each morning on the covered porch listening to birds. It was cozy without being crowded and close enough to mammoth cave and lake nolin for us to get some hiking and fishing in during our stay. Highly recommend.”

“Quiet country cottage close to Mammoth Cave. Beautiful location with host living in the adjacent house. Beds were comfortable and place was clean. We had a great time sitting out on the patio one evening when the weather was cool. Close enough to grocery stores, restaurants, and Mammoth Cave to be convenient, but nicely quiet and relaxing. Would definitely stay again.”

“It was such a wonderful, relaxing trip. The downstairs master bed was so comfortable. The kitchen was spacious and welcoming. It stormed a lot, so the swing was a nice feature and the hot tub was my daughter’s favorite spot. Wonderful stay. The only issue we had was the ferry was closed due to flooding, so we had to drive all the way around which took 45 mins vs. 20. Thank you for having us.”

Things that could make a wonderful VRBO property even better: - having a laminated copy of wifi name/password and cleaning/leave instructions available. All of this info was provided, but it has been my experience many people leave this in the house as well. - a corkscrew & bottle opener (luckily had my own) - recommendations for restaurants and/or places to buy food/liquor would be helpful too!”
