“Well what a really pleasant place, surpassed all expectations. We stayed in The Horseshoe Suite and it was perfect for a short stay. Our only problem would have been the bath size - small, but the shower was more than adequate. The bed was very large and very comfortable with exceptionally white bed linen, every where was very clean and tidy. “Our stay was lovely: the manageress, bar staff and waitresses were all welcoming. They provided information about the local area and showed interest when we returned after our days out. We stayed three nights in a very comfortable room, with a good selection at breakfast. We ate in one evening which very tasty. We would definitely stay here again.”

“I was traveling to the area alone and had chosen to stay here. I was greeted by a very friendly lady who I later discovered was the owner. The room was very clean a pretty with everything you needed. That evening I had a drink in the bar and the owners were so friendly and welcoming offering any assistance I may need. The breakfast was delicious and while I didn’t eat a meal there the menu looked great and very varied. I would definitely stay there again if I am in the area. ”

“Not our first stay here - a returning visit, as the previous one was so good - luckily, we got the same room as before; beautifully decorated, extremely quiet and comfortable, the bathroom quite superb, and already looking for an excuse to go again. The food in the bar/restaurant is quite, quite delicious, and the staff have obviously been very well briefed on how to deal with customers. We cannot fault this property at all - wonderful.”

“We stayed with our young son for 3 nights in July 2024. The staff were absolutely lovely, so welcoming and helpful with everything we needed and great with interacting with our young son. The food - breakfast and dinner - is truly incredible with nothing too much trouble. “Staff fantastic. Small hiccup with payment due to new computer system. 3 floors, lift only goes to 2 floors so if you have mobility issue, let them know when you book. Car park is very tight- not the best. If you have a larger vehicle don’t expect to safely park up. ”

“A lovely stay at the Royal Oak for one night. Very friendly and attentive staff. They were more than happy to arrange late access to the property due to us having to return to the room late at night. Breakfast was excellent, with options for full English or kippers, plus plenty of toast, cereals, fruit, yoghurt. The car park is very small, and can't accommodate all vehicles, however there is ample parking on the road at the front of the property. The room was comfortable with clean linens....
