"Bishop Arts Retreat" - extended outdoor living space!

Find plenty of room for everyone in a generously proportioned house that's smart and elegant as well as warm and inviting. Dine in a formal room. Snuggle by a fireplace. Have nightcaps on a veranda after the kids are in bed.

This spacious house has 2 primary bedrooms with ensuites. This house has one primary bedroom downstairs with a queen size bed and futon with an attached ensuite, double sinks, tub, shower and walk in closet. There is a powder room under the stairs on the first floor as well. You will find the 2nd primary bedroom upstairs with an ensuite that also has double sinks, walk in shower, walk in closet with small refrigerator. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms with queen size beds, and another bedroom with 2 twin beds and twin fold out couch. There is a full-size bathroom in the hallway. The laundry room is also upstairs with a full-size washer and dryer.

The deck is great outdoor living space with gas grill for outdoor cooking. You won't have to worry about missing the game while you grill, there is a TV outside so you can cheer on your favorite team! There is plenty of space for the kids to run around in the backyard. Enjoy making smores by the firepit. Sit and relax with a glass of wine and enjoy the cool summer nights. Come enjoy on your next vacation!


Things To Do During Your Stay
This house is within walking distance of the hottest new restaurant and bar area in Dallas, the Bishop Arts District. This area boasts some of the most popular restaurants in the city, including Lucia, which can be booked months in advance. Please let us know if we can help you reserve your special dinner here.

For the Foodie in your life, the Farmer's Market in downtown Dallas is the place to be. Fruits, vegetables, shops, restaurants, special events. A little something for everyone!

Salty Donuts, Dallas’ favorite gourmet donut shop is a 10 min walk or 3 min bike ride from this house.

For music lovers, we are located less than a mile from The Kessler, a music venue known for its eclectic line up and beautiful vintage charm.

For the ladies, we are a hop, skip and a jump from downtown Dallas with some of the best shopping in the country. Did someone say Neiman Marcus?

For the guys, the home is a short drive from Stevens Park Golf Course, one of the most beloved courses in Dallas, and Oak Lawn Founders Park, a beautiful green space known for its frisbee golf course.

And don’t forget nearby American Airlines Center, home of the Dallas Mavericks.

For families, the nearby Dallas Aquarium and Dallas Zoo are a must see!

If you are traveling for medical reasons, this house is also within walking distance of Methodist Hospital. It is also within 10 to 15 minutes of hospitals in the downtown Dallas area.

My family stayed here for a recent gathering. The home is beautiful, as pictured. There are a few areas that need updating/replacement. For instance, the matress on the bed in the master bedroom on the first floor needs replacing (it sinks to the middle). There was an issue when we arrived where there was not sufficient washcloths available for the expected number of guests and the extra washcloths that we were directed to left much to be desired to the point I went out and purchased washcloths. The neighborhood is nice and quite. And the patios and balconies were very nice for gathering outside. Other than the issue with the washcloths, the home was sufficiently stocked with all the necessary items. There is a strip mall with a Kroger, a Dollar Tree, and other shops nearby.

Perfect location for Convention Center

Large comfortable house that met our every need. Would stay at again if in Dallas. Quiet and safe neighborhood just down the street from restaurants and and easy access to Convention Center. And communication with host was excellent.

Wedding Bells in Dallas

The response was always timely from the first email I sent to the property owner and her team. We had family coming as far away as the UK and the East Coast for a wedding. The neighborhood was within walking distance of restaurants and had easy access to parks, downtown, and a hospital in case of emergency. I would choose this house again just for the excellent customer service provided by the owners!

Beautiful home in Bishop Art's District

We rented this property for our family while staying in Dallas for my daughter's wedding. There were 8 of us total, so the home was a suitable size for that number with plenty of room and parking. We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was in walking distance to Bishop Art's where there are plenty of restaurants, shops, bars, and fun! The wedding was held at "House of Dirt" on Bishop, so it was also very convenient for that venue. The beds were comfy, the water pressure was good, the back patio was an enjoyable gathering spot, and there were a lot of thoughtful amenities provided by the owner. I think my only suggestions would be: 1) Please provide more towels and face clothes for guests. If we only had 5 or 6 guests, this would have been less of an issue, but for parties larger than that, it's nice to have more than one towel per person so that there are towels available when other towels are being laundered. 2) The upstairs bathroom shower (not master) does not have a lip and is poorly sloped, so it leaks everywhere when in use. We had to use towels daily to block water from leaking out. 3) The handle on the inside of the master shower is partially broken and can't be used. This was not a big deal as we could open the door by simply pushing or pulling on the glass, but if the handle were to come off and fall on someone's toe, it would probably hurt since it's metal and likely heavy. Other than those minor issues, the home was everything we needed and more.

Wedding in Dallas

We had 8 adults stay at this lovely home in Bishop Arts for my daughter's wedding. Everyone was comfortable. We came and went a lot, but we did cook a big meal and play games around the nice long tables. We were able to walk back and forth to my daughter's house which we loved. We will likely rent this home again! Thank you for making our weekend memorable and perfect! Kim

I would stay here again.

I was very happy with our stay and was impressed with the open communication with the host. There were lots of extra bedding and towels available, and the host was quick to respond to any questions or concerns we may have had. I feel that this host went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was great.

Lovely House, Fantastic Location

We selected this VRBO rental as our destination to watch the April 8, 2024 eclipse as this fell in the "path of totality", and we wanted the convenience of BEING in the moon's shadow vs. having to "travel" to it. This house met that requirement beautifully. The unexpected and VERY WELCOME surprise was when we learned that the house was in easy walking distance to the Bishop Arts District. This place has GREAT open-air bars & restaurants, interesting shops, and live music. A truly unexpected BONUS! The house itself was LOVELY! It was roomy for our party of 10 adults, but we had a bit of confusion figuring out the bed situation until we realized some of the twin beds are PULL-OUTs. It's listed as able to accommodate 16, but that would require some very specific "demographics". We were 10 adults (4 couples, 2 individuals) and it would've been very challenging to accommodate even 1 more adult. I am something of a handyman, and there were some vey minor annoyances that I wanted to fix around the place - LOL. Of the 2 lights above the kitchen island, one bulb was out and we couldn't find a working replacement in the house. The microwave oven "died" overnight, but a call to the owner directed me to the outside breaker-box where I quickly resolved the issue. Like I said, minor stuff. All in all we had a GREAT time here, and we would absolutely recommend this home to anyone looking to have a wonderful time in the suburbs of Dallas, TX.

lovely house in great location

The house was perfect for my family who was visiting for the SMU graduation. We needed a first floor room for one elderly person and it was a gorgeous room. The upstairs rooms were also great for the rest of us. The 2nd primary was perfect for myself and my husband. The location is walkable to Bishop Arts, which we took advantage of almost every day. Access to highways and SMU was ok, but we knew it would be a bit of a drive and planned accordingly. The only glitch was getting the code to get in but it worked out in the end. Highly recommend this rental.

Great location for large group

Spacious property worked well for our annual board game convention with two large tables to accommodate our gaming group. We had 6 people and while there are 5 rooms, there are no bunk beds so one person had to sleep in a trundle bed, which still worked but wasn’t ideal. It would have been fine for children, but not so great for an adult. Still, we thought the proximity to the convention (downtown Dallas) was great.

Amazing home near downtown

The home is absolutely beautiful. The kitchen and living areas are gorgeous. The bedrooms were comfortable. The home is just over two miles to dealey plaza. The home is 1 mile to the Texas theater and less than half a mile to the Oswald boarding house and the home on Neely street home. Highly recommend this beautiful home close to most JFK sites.

Easter weekend in Dallas

This house and its location were perfect! Enough room for us all to relax and enjoy ourselves. The house is bright and cheery and we loved it! Each bed was comfortable, the bathrooms were modern, and the kitchen was perfect for our Easter brunch. The neighborhood was perfect for our weekend getaway. We walked to Bishop Arts district every day for coffee, shopping, dinner, and just going out! We also walked through the neighborhood to Kidd Springs park -- it was such a lovely surprise! Driving to uptown, Knox-Henderson, Lower Greenville, and the Katy trail was very convenient and nothing was more than 15 min away. Thank you for it all!! We highly recommend this home!

Beautiful property walking distance to the arts district

This rental was perfect for our group of 5 friends who were masterminding for the new year. We enjoyed meals out at the nearby restaurants and spent most of the day planning and strategizing our year ahead. The property was spacious, clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful time and the host was very responsive and gracious. We highly recommend it!

Great location and house

Our family and friends stayed here for my son’s wedding. House was perfect for 9 adults to have their own space and gather at the spacious table for meals. Had a minor issue with not enough towels but Erica was wonderful and delivered more. Bishop Arts area close by with lots of restaurants and shops. Good parking as well.

Great house!

This was such a great house! It was very clean, had large bedrooms, and was in a great location. After a hiccup with the booking, the property manager and owner were very responsive and accommodating throughout my stay. Would definitely recommend.
