As a frequent occupant of STRs, I can honestly say my stay at the Rogers House was the WORST lodging experience I’ve ever had. Awning property management was TERRIBLE! They don’t know how to manage and they could never reach the owners to make a decision.
The first night, the pipes froze. We didn’t have running water in the shower and tub of the primary nor for the toilet in the half bath. Apparently the property management knew there was a chance for this, but they never let us know. Also, they told me there was nothing that could be done and I just had to deal with it. This was my wedding weekend and I didn’t have time to go back and forth with them.
Fast forward 2 days (wedding eve), we get locked out during a snowstorm at 10pm. I called/messaged the property management and they couldn’t find a locksmith. I find one for them and then they cant get payment approved by the owners. After an HOUR of WAITING, I ask them if I pay, will I be reimbursed – they say yes. I pay, we get in. Now they claim it was MY FAULT that the smart lock didn’t work and they wont reimburse me. This is ridiculous because there was a review prior to my stay stating issues with the locks. I asked them about this before booking and they promised everything was remedied. LIES!
I have since contacted Vrbo because of the mistreatment by this host and their property manager. I definitely feel like I was taking advantage of. Hopefully this review will help future occupants to be prepared for a mess!
