“Beautiful period property with tall ceilings and all the usual lovely period features. Friendly, helpful staff. Hearty breakfast buffet every morning and evening meals were also very tasty. Stayed in an Executive Room which was very spacious, warm and well kitted out. Biscuits, coffee bags, tea and hot chocolate plus bottle wated provided in the rooms. Fast and efficient check-in and check-out. Would be very pleased to stay again if in the area. Thank you.”

“I had positive expectations of this hotel having stayed in other Mercure hotels in recent years, however this hotel was very dated by comparison and run down. The room was clean enough, however the TV was very small for a modern hotel room, and the general fixtures and fittings were not of the standard I expected. My colleague and I both opted for rooms here over other nearby hotels due to it's central location and previous good experience of Mercure hotels, however we were both disappointed...

“Very nicely situated in a quiet village area 3miles from the town centre. Large car park at the rear and easy access to a bus service outside. Clean pub and rooms of a reasonable quality. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Well priced.”

“We booked the cottage and were so glad we did. The photos although good, don’t really do it justice. The bedroom opens out onto a spacious balcony with good quality wooden table and chairs. The view is very serene, as you can see the river. The hot tub is really amazing. It was very clean and we were shown how to use it properly. If anything it was a little hot at 40c. It kept this heat for several hours. Bathroom was beautiful. Living room immaculate. And a 2nd bathroom with toilet and shower....

“We asked for a late check out and even though the hotel was absolutely empty - (we were the only two people at breakfast in a room that could seat 100) the hotel still denied a late checkout (personally I think 11am checkout is too early) so we were charged an extra £20 for a 12pm checkout. When the room costs £500 per night this is totally outrageous. The hotel was empty so it would have been a nice gesture to offer a 1pm checkout given at most high end hotels 12pm is standard. “Had a two night stay in Room 1. Staff all friendly and helpful. WiFi was on the blink.so not available on our room. They said they needed to fix it. Room was spacious. Lovely bathroom but lighting in both room and bathroom could be brighter. Water hot but found controls on shower difficult to adjust. Tea making facilities all good but I brought my own herbal tea - only standard tea available. Small bottle of still and sparkling water provided.”

“The room was nice & clean , a bonus was the air conditioning as it was hot weather . We also ate evening meal there which was ok , breakfast was plentiful with a good choice . We only stayed one night on our way to Scotland & our daughter & family met us there to complete the journey . What was nice was that they were able to park & use the hotel for food / drinks etc .
