The Avon Dam is a great place to walk up to all year round, parking in a car park & then walk up a Tarmac path all the way up until the road splits. At the fork just before the dam you have a choice; take the Tarmac option to the left which takes you to the bottom of the dam & then a steep ascent up to the top. If you choose the right hand option up the rocky path you reach the top on a less steeper ascent. When you get to the top turn 180 degrees & admire the view over South Devon

Coxhill Cross A crossroads of lanes southwest of Buckfastleigh, which is ahead right. Sharper right leads down towards the Dean valley at Halfmoon, and left leads up to the moor at Cross Furzes.
Lane to Wallaford Cross. Looking in the other direction from 1126535. The lane from 1125852 is at a right-angled bend beside 1126516, and climbs towards 1043551.

The staff were freindly and helpful. The room was a little tired and in need of updating. The main social rooms of the hotel have characterful decor and are well kept.

Il lavandino del bagno si otturava appena dopo aver aperto il rubinetto. I miei erano pieni di macchie. La finestra era sporchissima (dall’esterno).
