Welcome to Blue Butterfly Cottage — a peaceful, thoughtfully appointed home-away-from-home in Denison, Texas, where comfort, convenience, and a few unexpected touches come together to make your stay feel special.

Whether you’re visiting family, exploring historic Downtown Denison, traveling for work, enjoying a weekend getaway, or simply looking for a comfortable place to relax and recharge, Blue Butterfly Cottage was created to feel like more than just a place to sleep. From hotel-quality bedding and a spa-inspired shower to warm towels, great coffee, and plenty of room to unpack and settle in, we’ve tried to think of the little things that make traveling easier.

THE KING BEDROOM

Stretch out and get comfortable in the spacious king bedroom featuring a medium-firm king-size mattress dressed in Bedsure hotel-quality cotton linens and comfortable bedding.

Wind down with the 55” Smart TV or create a dark, restful sleeping environment with room-darkening blackout pull-down shades.

A large closet provides drawers, shelving, wooden hangers, and a luggage rack, so you don’t have to live out of your suitcase. Touch bedside lamps with built-in charging ports keep phones and devices conveniently within reach.

The bedroom has central heating and air conditioning as well as a ceiling fan for additional comfort.

Entry into the bedroom is single-level with no steps and features a wide 36” doorway for easier access.

THE QUEEN BEDROOM

The second bedroom offers a cozy retreat with a medium-firm queen-size mattress and hotel-quality linens and bedding.

Room-darkening blackout pull-down shades help create a quiet, restful sleeping environment, while touch bedside lamps with built-in charging ports make it easy to charge your devices overnight.

A large closet includes shelving, storage baskets, wooden hangers, and a luggage rack, giving guests plenty of space to unpack and feel at home.

SPA-INSPIRED BATHROOM

One of our favorite spaces in the cottage is the spacious bathroom, designed with both comfort and accessibility in mind.

The large walk-in accessible shower features grab bars, a rainfall showerhead, handheld shower wand, and teak shower bench. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided, so there’s no need to pack the basics.

During the winter months, we add fresh eucalyptus sprigs to the shower for an extra touch of relaxation and a wonderful spa-like shower experience.

Step out of the shower and enjoy one of our favorite cottage luxuries — a towel warmer for a cozy warm towel after your shower.

A double-sink vanity gives couples and families plenty of room to get ready, with generous shelving and storage for toiletries and personal belongings.

LAUNDRY MADE EASY

Travel creates laundry, so we’ve made catching up easy.

The cottage includes a full-size washer and dryer, folding table, laundry detergent, and an iron. Whether you’re staying for several days, traveling with children, or simply want to head home with clean clothes, everything you need is right there.

COFFEE, TEA & A LITTLE BLUE BUTTERFLY MAGIC

Mornings at the cottage should start well.

Our coffee station features a Ninja Specialty DualBrew Pro, giving guests the choice of coffee pods or traditional grounds. We’ve also included a frother so you can make your morning cup just the way you like it.

And because one of your hosts happens to be Australian, you may find a little Aussie influence around the cottage, too. Try a Tim Tam Slam with your coffee, or slow things down with our special Butterfly Pea Flower “Magic Tea.”

SPACE TO RELAX

The cottage is meant to be lived in, not tiptoed around.

Stretch out, watch a movie, enjoy your morning coffee, play a game, read a book about local history or ghosts stories from Denison, or simply enjoy having a peaceful place of your own while you’re in town.

Central heating and air conditioning keep the cottage comfortable throughout the year.

Our game closet provides another way to unwind together with a Lune Controller or board games, and outdoors you’ll find a backyard and patio area where you can enjoy some fresh Texas air. Yard games, including cornhole and giant Connect Four, add a little friendly competition to your stay.

A Pack ’n Play with linens is available for our littlest guests, and the full-size washer and dryer can be especially handy when traveling with children.

We want parents and grandparents to be able to settle in, spread out, and spend their time making memories rather than worrying about the small stuff.

Blue Butterfly Cottage gives you a quiet place to relax while keeping you conveniently located for exploring Denison and the surrounding Texoma area.

Spend some time discovering the restaurants, shops, entertainment, and character of Downtown Denison, visit local parks and attractions, or use the cottage as your comfortable home base while visiting friends and family.

Outdoor lovers can explore beautiful Lake Texoma, Waterloo Lake Regional Park, Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge, Eisenhower State Park, and the Denison Dam area.

History lovers can discover Denison’s connection to President Dwight D. Eisenhower and visit the Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site.

Heading north for entertainment? Choctaw Casino & Resort in Durant is also within driving distance.
