“La mansion is in a beautiful location, and has nice views of the lake. The swimming pool and hot tub (more of a warm-tub) were great. I also loved our bright yellow room with crazy tiles thoughout the bathroom. The restaurant was ok. I would recommend eating at one of the local sodas instead. Overall, a great spot if you have a car to explore the area(Including La Fortuna)”

“The farm was so charming—including the goats and pigs! It felt secluded, safe, and had an excellent view of the farm and lake. The staff were sweet and attentive and the food was amazingly tasty.”

“Lovely self sustaining eco resort in the midst of the forest. We loved the food, the coziness of the cabin, the yoga classes, and wandering around the property. The farm tour and the night tour were fun activities to do with a 4 year old. We did not like: occasional smell of sewage around the property, especially around the pools. Dated bathrooms in cabins - needs a refresh. Construction noise around the property. ”

“The view and the owner/hostess made our stay! The personal attention at breakfast was delightful. This feels more like renting a villa with a morning chef than like a hotel. There are a couple good restaurants at the bottom of the hill for dinner. The drive to La Fortuna is 30 minutes. Be aware there is no air conditioning. There are windows with screens on 3 sides of the villa so the breeze is nice. In the morning you’ll hear a beautiful symphony of birds. I would stay here again.”

“The rooms were clean, staff is very friendly and aims to please. The lodge offers a simple nice breakfast. Dinner is also available if you confirm - we chose to eat off property. The road to arrive is extremely rough - potholes, less than two lanes at times - but worth it once you arrive. There was no TV in our room, I suggest making certain you have games or other entertainment. I also suggest planning to arrive back at the lodge early evening, before it gets too dark, but only due to the...

“The cottage is cozy and has most everything you need for your stay. There is WiFi but it is extremely slow, usually only 1-2 Mbps. The grounds are beautiful with quite a few trails to hike, unfortunately for us it rained almost everyday we were there. ”

“The house is cozy. We spent Christmas eve and few days after here. The beds are comfortable. The shower pressure was good. The kitchen is well equipped for meal prep. AC in the bedrooms but it wasn't needed. The main house has screens on the windows to a great breeze. The separate extra room doesnt have screens, which would have bern nice. The lake views from wrap around deck are nice. You can spot toucans, hummingbirds, hawks and much more. The lake is out the main gate and a 5 minute walk...

“Lovely home and view. Host was very responsive. Totally necessary to have for wheel drive for the last 3 km’s from Tronadora to the home. Unpaved road in very bad condition, more so when it rains. Location not convenient for touring La Fortuna or Monteverde. Approx 2 hour drive to both. Four wheel drive necessary for drive to Monteverde. Tronadora itself is a lovely town and there are some really nice restaurants close by. ”
