“This was a great place to truly experience the beauty of this part of Costa Rica. It is a long drive and one must be careful to take the right roads but we had a great experience and wish we could have stayed longer.”

“An absolute gem of a place. It is just as rustic as the photos suggest and that’s exactly the charm. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, immaculate property, stunning gardens. Also the best night sleep of our stay in Costa Rica hands down.”

“Best Stay of Our Costa Rica Trip — Malekus Mountain Lodge This was, hands down, the best place we stayed during our 10 days in Costa Rica. Not only is the property itself beautiful, but we had the pleasure of being the only guests, so Roger and Rosy treated us like family. They helped us shape our itinerary to have a more authentic, local experience, and honestly ended up defining our whole trip. The rooms were comfortable — we had the one with a double bed plus a separate room with a bunk bed,...

“A hidden gem in guanacaste province! By far my favorite place, from the warm welcome, to the well-thought out layout of our cabin, to the excellent service all around! The place is clean, safe, well maintained, easy to navigate even for our young kids, who felt right at home. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a chocolate drink and a tasting of various locally crafted cacao products. The breakfast, traditional costa rican, is made fresh every morning, with coffee/tea/hot chocolate...

“The nicest people and wonderful hosts. I mentioned that we would be celebrating our daughter’s bday while we were there and they knocked on the door with a huge slice of chocolate cake and a candle and sang Feliz cumpleanos. It was the sweetest thing and so special for our family. It was such a kind gesture and it set the tone for the rest of our time there. Breakfast was a lovely production. We entered the dining room and they just started bringing out entree after entree, fruit, eggs, gallo...

“Most beautiful property I’ve ever stayed. Breathtaking views. Amazing flora and fauna. Amazing sounds. Beautiful lodge. The best!”

“Everything was fantastic. Very helpful host Nana. House is in the provate secure area behind the electric gate. Lots of space, beautiful inside and out. Fully equipped kitchen and even laundry room. Loved the huge patio and the garden.”

“The room was nice and the breakfast very delicious. The pool was closed, there was no water in it maybe they renovate it, not sure. To get there is quite a long drive on gravel roads but we enjoyed seeing so many birds in the morning.”

“The property was quiet, away from town a few minutes. The hosts were so friendly and wonderful to us. The bungalows were in very good shape and very clean. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone!”

“A very beautiful place, quiet and super pleasant”
