“We had a room on the ground floor in the front of the hotel. They just have a white shade at the window. The bright lights were coming through the window and we could not sleep. I recommend that they put up room darkening curtains up.”

“Floor turned children’s skin black and there was garbage left in the room from previous guest. Not enough towels. Not really anything for breakfast that was not sugar.”

“The EV charger is a game changer for me. My son’s girlfriend goes to Morehead but there are no superchargers within an hour of the school. When we first visited I had to plan a stop in Lexington and then make sure I had enough battery to get back. So much more convenient. The hotel was clean, breakfast was good, The staff was great.”

“Was under renovation but room was clean and staff accommodating”

“Not good”

“Private, very clean, and comfortable ... awesome stay ... we will be back!!”

“Such a cozy cabin. Clean, accessible and tucked neatly away on a creek. Had everything you could want for a quick cozy getaway. Will definitely be back.”

“Thank you for a nice overall stay. The place wasn’t very clean but they brought me a vacuum and swifter and I cleaned myself, that was nice of them. Appliances are REALLY outdated and not well maintained. But if you don’t mind those things, you will have a great stay :) it’s really a 2/2 but plenty of space. VERY reasonable price for the stay. Also no phone service unless you connected to WiFi. Thanks again”

“The cottage was very modern and clean. Perfect for our stay!”

“Val and her husband were very hospitable. I have rented from VRBO many times and have never met the owner of the property but walked in to a list of rules and instructions for checkout. That was not the case with Val's retreat! Even though we did not get in until close to 10pm Val was still there to greet us, gave us a tour of cabin, had our towels on the towel warmer, ensured the hot tub was at a nice relaxing temperature and even had cookies on the kitchen table and snacks with bottled water...

“Great property! Very close to Cave Run marina. Super clean, well furnished, and just perfect for 2 people that need a good, cool place to sleep and clean up after a full day on the lake. We were very comfortable there and will most certainly be back!”

“Nice, clean place to stay.”
