“Mandala Resort was everything my husband and I were looking for and more. This is a very high end spa resort without the high end price. The gourmet meals were beautifully prepared and presented from fresh, healthy ingredients. Lisa's homemade breads and breakfast smoothies were a treat every day. The treehouse room was wonderful! So beautiful and comfortable. The proprietors, Ben and Lisa, are excellent hosts and the mindful design of the resort reflects their love and respect for the...

“This was a last minute booking made when our preferred booking was cancelled, after being confirmed more than three months earlier, apparently due to overbooking??? On arrival, the toilet was broken and dirty. The room wasn't secure as a window locking mechanism was broken. And, for most of our stay the internet wasn't available. And then, the controls for the television and the air conditioner were labeled in Chinese--awkward. The continental breakfast was minimal, and during our stay, had...

“We went to the Royal Sunset with 6 of our Tongan young friends who help us at a humanitarian clinic we work in. We are leaving Tonga and wanted to thank them for all they do. We decided to spend the night at the Royal Sunset. The rooms were filthy. The linens were stained and the rooms were unbearably hot. The pool water was brown. Of the 3 kayaks that were available for use, 2 took on water as soon as you pulled them into the ocean. We waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for our lunch and we were...

“Nice resort, well run by the owners. It has comfortable rooms, private beach, a very useful pier for the trip boats and sea floor is rich of corals. Owners organised boat trips for us to visit nice places for snorkelling and diving. It was not the season for whales watching yet and there were not many tourists. We enjoyed kayaks made available by the resort together with fins and masks. Swimming pool and sunbeds were not available at the time.”

“Fantastic stay. very nice beach.....swim, snorkel right from hotel. The good: Location - I would rather stay at Vakaloa (30+ minutes from Nuku'alofa than the other way around. Beachfront - Sloped beach.... and coral, but sandy (crushed coral).... can walk barefoot Kayak - They were free to borrow Snorkeling - Free snorkel gear. You could see some fish right out front....but a great spot about a ten minute walk up the beach. Bicycle - Free bicycle to cruise around the...
